Internal Revenue Service

As a bureau of the Department of the Treasury and as one of the world's most efficient tax administrators, the IRS role is to help the large majority of compliant taxpayers with the tax law, while ensuring that the minority who are unwilling to comply pay their fair share. (Source: www.irs.gov)

Question related to hiring process:

I applied for the following:
Internal Revenue Agent - 09PH3-SBE0254-512-5T11

7/11/09: Applied
7/20/09: Approved for levels 5/7/9/11
7/28/09: Completed online job assessment
8/18/09: Received "Category A Superior" for all levels.

So, do I get an interview at this point? How long is the approx. wait before I may hear something about an interview? I've tried to go through some posts but it gets a bit confusing. Thanks for your help!

Hey!

After you take your assesment it can take a loooooong time to get an interview. It depends on when they're doing the next hire; the results will stand for 1 year. If they are hiring within the year, they should e-mail you or call (although an e-mail is more likely).

Hope that helps!

For the position I got, there were about 50 cat a superiors. Only about have of those got interviews (for 11 spots) based entirely on resume. Only one or two failed the interview. Hiring manager again went back to resumes to choose candidates that scored "highly recommend" on the interview portion.

Question related to hiring process:

I applied for the following:
Internal Revenue Agent

3/31/09: Applied
4/07/09: Completed online job assessment
4/13/09: Received "Category A Superior" for all levels.
5/08/09 Reapplied for position due to new job posting and no reply
7/6/09: Approved for levels 7/9/11
8/17/09 Received a "no show RA Assessment" email stating that at this time your application will not be forwarded to the next step in the hiring process - Sincerely, Philadelphia Employment Office, Section III

I have replied to the email twice in the past two weeks inquiring as to what course of action may be taken to get back on track.

I am really at a loss as to what to do at this point.

Any suggestions or input would be much appreciated.

Thanks
