Greetings all,
I've been offered a Federal Job that initially was to start in August. I asked if it was ok to start in September as I had a family vacation already planned during August.
I realize the end of the fiscal year is coming up quick and since my start date isn't till September 28 (almost the end of the fiscal year)I wonder if there is anything I might be limited to with regards to making selections such as health benefits, investing, buying back military time, etc...
Thanks for any advice.

I can't tell from your post if the agency formally approved delaying your starting date until next fiscal year.

I don't think there should be any limitations with your benefits selections or anything, but I am not an HR expert.
The biggest things to know about the end of fiscal year are that the timesheet processing is more complicated than usual -- in the agencies I've worked at one has had to submit each fiscal year separately -- and that if there is a Continuing Resolution instead of a budget (looking very likely), funding for travel, training, supplies, etc. can be restricted because agencies don't know what their funding will be.
Good luck in your new job!

My offer had a start date in August and they sent me another offer to reflect the new start date on September 28. It also increased the starting pay (special incentive for information technology-2210).
That was nice.
So far, so good.
I'll continue to post an update as I start in processing.
