The APWU is forcing the clerks at the El Dorado Post Office to do the collection run which is clearly carrier work. Why because they want to add clerk hours. The clerks do not want to do the work but the Union does not care. The clerk craft employees are being sent out without and uniform protection in the harshness of winter etc.. But the Union does not care. The Nalc has decided not to file a grievance for the hours because their members do not want to run the collection on Holidays. The Nalc does listen to their members. Can a clerk be a member of the NALC? APEW union membership is decreasing daily and the number one reason is ..they don't care about us at all. They only care about especially in the Wichita Local sitting in their nice office and not working for a living. If the Apwu officers think we should do carrier work..let them come here and do it. We are a level 21 Office and now only 1 clerk is a member and he is retiring in 3 months. The Apwu has now lost our entire office. STrange thing is no clerk hours are added by us doing the carrier work because they are forcing the clerks who are regulars to do it.
