I retired from the USPS Oct 30th.  I got my final AL check Nov 13th.  Well, today a direct deposit shows up in the account for $932.  What I do not understand is that I have not been retired long enough to receive a check due Dec 1st if things were going well.  My annuity is about 1630 (FERS) a month after survivorship, and the supplement will be about 907.

Is the 932 the FERS only minus some deductions and the supplement come later?  Why would I get it before I have been gone even one month?  Thanks for any thoughts.

Hi...I am waiting on the same thing and was told the "interim" payments will be less than your regular payment until they finalize your retirement case.  I would guess is that it is a partial payment for November.  I could be wrong, but I can only hope I get that for interim payments to start because I have heard some horror stories.  Good luck and congrats on your retirement.Smile

Can you check where that money came from?  I would think that if USPS paid it, it would show up differently than if OPM paid it.  If OPM paid it, it would likely be an interim payment but, as you said, you wouldn't be due for that until Dec 1.  If it came from USPS, maybe the shared service group can let you know what it was for?

I got my first letter from OPM yesterday.  It is actually an interim payment for the month of November.  The speed for that is amazing.  I suppose the next step is to finalize the total and cathch up on insurance premiums and the supplement.
