You need to find a job for which you are qualified and apply for it.

I am sorry, but I do not have the time to respond to private messages. I will not respond to them. |

About the only thing that would keep you from being able to secure a Fed Position would be if you were a convincted Felon. Naturally, some positions require a cleaner background, but that depends on the position.
Like tucker515 said, find a job you feel you are qualified for and apply for it. The worst they can say is no.
Good Luck

If you want a job in information security you need to do alot more than just apply.
If you take the CISSP test and pass you will be an associate and then when you get enough years of doing it you can be a certified member. But without any certs GOOD LUCK.

While I wouldn't mention it on my resume, don't try to hide your DUI, no matter how much you want a job. If they find out later, it could bite you on the butt.
And pleading ignorance of the law or "youthful indiscretion" only works for cabinet-level appointments. |

Hey sorry to dig up an old thread here, but I am really curious about this!
According to the isc2 website you still need the 5 years experience to sit for the examination ( http://www.isc2.org/cissp-how-to-certify.aspx). I have a BS in computer science and applied mathematics and just received my MS in information assurance. I would really like to make the most of my unemployment and get this exam out of the way.
Thanks!

Yes completely agree with you. CISSP is important if you want to pursue a career in information security with Fed and want to see yourself rising through the ranks in the future.
