DHS
The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 230,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. [Their] duties are wide-ranging, but [their] goal is clear: keeping America safe. (source: www.dhs.gov)

I took the CBT and got a contigent job offer like two hours later. Does anyone know if this is odd and might mean they are in a hurry to fill positions? I hope so! The one I applied for is the TSO for the Fort Myers, FL airport and the job post said many vacancies available. I need employment now?! Thanks for any attention this ? might get

Thats a normal response time for the CBT...now your patience will be tested!
It now becomes a long drawn out process for most of us..welcome to the club!
Read the posts and you will get the idea and also the info you will need along the way!

Good luck on starting work now. TSO process take longer than my GS-9 position that requires a clearance.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but it took me about 1 year to get hired as a TSO after I graduated from college. For some people it takes less time, and for some people it takes longer... the two main factors in this process are filling out your SF-86 form correctly, and the amount of vacancies your airport has.
It is "definitely" a test of patience, unfortunately.
