Anyone have any info on the application process?  I find it odd that the NOR takes 5 to 6 weeks to process when there were no KSA's to fill out.

If you heard 5-6 weeks, it'll probably be 10-12 weeks or more.

anyone applied to the recent/ongoing announcement?  for those who are currently working as a passport specialist, are they hiring a lot of people?  i chose multiple locations to increase my chances: dallas, charleston, tucson, and new orleans.

@ Newbie...Good questions. It sounds like you and I are in the same boat and are approaching our job search the same way. I applied to all of the recent openings with the exception of NYC and LA. I have no desire to live in either city. Out of all of the federal positions I have applied to in the past few months, this one has me the most excited due to the amount of vacancies and "many" or "few" advertised positions available (in addition to my qualifications). I've applied to a few Army civilian positions and although I dislike their website and think it's cumbersome to have to apply for Federal positions beyond the USAJobs and application manager sites, I will say that I love the fact that the Army shows how many people applied to a respective position. It's a nice yardstick to measure interest and competition against.

Good Luck!

Hey I applied to all of them as well.  Only heard back from the one in CT so far, eligible but not referred. Disappointing, hopefully better news to come.

I haven't heard anything yet either. They still all say "reviewing applications" or "qualifications are currently being assessed."

I'll re-post once I hear something...

Passport services is currently shifting around specialist through lateral transfers so it make take some time to figure out where the exact needs are to bring in new people. But i have heard they do need new blood.

Hey guys-  They are definitely hiring.  I applied for the Tucson location last month and got the call for an interview on Friday.  I interviewed yesterday morning and now I guess I'm just waiting.  Anyone know what's next?  I thought the interview went well and they asked me for a writing sample, which I also provided yesterday.  They said I should hear something within the next 2 weeks or so.  I have a lot of friends who work Civil Service and have told me that it is possible that I pretty much already have the job and that the interview process if just a formality.  I'm not that confident though.  I did do some reading on the internet and found that typically the training for the position is in Charleston, SC and I have also read that there is potentially a class starting on July 16.  Anyone know how true that is?  To be honest that date is pretty much my perfect start date, but if they offer me the job, I'll start whenever they want.  :)  Thanks for any input anyone can add.

No, I'm not a fed employee. I have been applying to everything I'm possibly qualified for on USAjobs for like two years and this is the first interview I've gotten. As soon as I hear something, I'll let you guys know. Always good to have insight from someone going through the process. I wish I could find someone; I'm kind of in the dark! Good luck!

All I received are the Acknowledge letters via the usajobs.  Checked the Application Manager today, and still the same.

We have reviewed your application and found you qualified for the position listed above.  Your name has been referred to the employing agency for consideration... Got tons of these in the last 2-3 years.

I interviewed for the evening shift in Charleston earlier this week.  I haven't heard anything yet, but thought it went well.
