It has been determinined that I discriminated against a client.  I recieved a letter with a proposed 14 day suspension.  Can the suspension be broken up to take a week now and a week later?  I have a meeting scheduled with the decision maker than I guess I can appeal.  Does anyone have any info.?  Thanks. By the way,  I did not do this.

Good luck, I'd guess the intent would be two weeks in a row BUT you can always ask.

There is a system of progressive punishment meant to correct employee behavior, and should be adhered to. Has this happened before ?  How about
1. Verbal Warning
2. Written warning and/or Counseling
3. 3 Day suspension or so....progressing up to 2 weeks

If this is a first infraction, that may be a little harsh.

I have worked almost 25 years and I have never had any adverse action against me. Not even a hint of a problem.  I worked my way from clerical to management.  I have never had any issues with clients or co-workers until this.  I had to give a person a negative decision.  I do not abuse my leave, I'm not late for work.  I get my job done.  I thought I would be the last person in the Agency that this would happen to.  I have never even had a discussion about a problem with my conduct.  There is absolutely nothing to be considered.  When my immediate supervisor gave me the letter of the proposed suspension, he told me this was the hardest thing he has had to do in his 35 years of service.  He also advised me that he knew I did not and would never discriminate against anyone.  I have requsted a meeting with the decision maker but I have already been advised, the decision will not be reversed. I want someone to review this that is knowledgeable of my Agency rules and regulations.  OCR made the determination & their decision conflicts with my Agency's procedure.

I would certainly look up any recourse, and pursue that avenue.
