Do you remember what u applied for, maybe examiner? Please let us know when u complete. Today a representative said they are moving right along...they are probably doing assessments to keep from doing a lot of interviews...good luck

That makes sense!  Can you imagine what it would be like to do all these interviews?  Again, when I started with that start up federal agency some years back, I was not interviewed.  Maybe I did an assessment too, but anyway, directed to report straight to training out of state.  I hpe our buddy gets on and good luck to all!Smile

Congratulations Milk and good luck on the assessment!  I hope the assessment is in lieu of the interview.  If so, that is excellent news.  I'm not sure how the hiring stages are, but I assume they have to get the Analyst first and leave the Examiners to be bought in as part of a class, so that they all can be trained at one time.

To All,

I think we had a good day--What I have noticed is that the HR Specialist for the jobs aren't answering the phones and when you "0" out, that is when I was able to get some lead way.

The position I applied for Consumer Protection Analyst job does not close until 5/5 (West Region) and it appears to be the last job to close and one on the 6th.

occupational Math - exponents and converting feet yards and inches, etc
occupational judgement - working situation with peers boss and customer
occupational interaction - most likely or least likely question
occupational reasoning - who is first, last in the middle or who can work with this group and who cannot.

Do not give up hope yet Milkman. We sometimes think we do worst than we really did, as we tend to be our harshest critics.

Southenbelle, to answer your question regarding my other applications, yes I have applied for the 4 positions at CFPB that I listed on the previous page, as well as the CDP program and the RA role at IRS . I received an email saying I was eligible but not referred for the CDP position as I had a B rating. I noticed that the status on Career connector (see below) states that I am under consideration for the position however. This is more reason not to put too much stock into the status updates until you receive an offer and get onboard. I submit for the jobs I have an interest in but continue with my life. I am under consideration for the Revenue Agent position (hiring-freeze). I tend the use the rifle gun approach to application submission instead of the scattershot approach. Since I am employed in a role I relatively enjoy, I only apply to jobs I really have an interest in doing.  With some of the CFPB positions are closing in the next couple of weeks it should not be too long before we know what direction the hiring wind is blowing at the CFPBJ.

LiveLoveLaugh,

I am sooo happy for you! Gee, I hope you hear from somebody during the month of May>  I can feel it, one of these jobs is yours.  The job I applied for expires 5/5 with CFPB.  I understand what you are saying about the ratings because some candidates may decline if other jobs they applied for were under a freeze and now they are being considered.

Much success and luck to you!

My gosh, with all the experience and education on this board alone, the Federal government has never had it so good than it has right now! I think we are seeing some of the best candidates compete for Federal employment now more than ever. These are the cream of the crop baby!

Look out CFPBLOL

Hey everyone, I have been following this thread for some time.  I decided to finally post since I have some news.  I called my HR rep today, and I was told that there were approximately 2500 applications that were submitted for the Examiner position.  This is the first time a new agency has received so many applications.  Consequentially, reviewing the applications will require more time.  Furthermore, those 2500 applicants are all rated differently.  However, the agency still needs to review ALL applications.  I asked if she thought it would take around an additional month to wrap up the review, and the response received was "probably not."

I hope this helps some of you that are patiently waiting.  Smile

There is definitely some movement going on the Analyst position. I see the applications are being reviewed per Careerconnector…

Hi,

Yes that helps because the federal government reviews all apps--I guess that's what makes them so different from private industry (because they don't care).  2500 is a lot.  Therefore, they would want to make sure that they adequately look at applicants and make sure they have enough coverage for the areas regions that are needed the most.

I applied for Examiner for the West Region and for the Consumer Financial Protection Analyst (preferred) job for San Francisco.  Hoping to get some feedback for the 5A grade because I qualify based on education requirement.  However, it may depend on how I score.

I really want to get in and out of private industry!

Thank you so much for the feedback!

Hi livelovelaugh,

I checked mine and it still says reviewing applications.  They better get a move on it:)))

I think more moves will be done in Mid-May or June, my assumption.

Do you know if that was 2500 applications total, for all grades and all locations?  Also, I'm curious as to how many of those applications are actually from individuals who applied to both, public and status positions; as well as, for various grades and different locations.  If their numbers don't take this into account, I'm sure that the 2500 applications came from about 750 people (lol).  So, our odds are probably much better than we think, not to mention that not everyone will be deemed "best qualified"!!!!

I wonder if actual interviews will be conducted or if they will just hire based on ratings.  It doesn't seem as if they have the necessary labor to conduct that many interviews.

Good Morning,

To add to this conversation, I don't think they will review all applications because I applied for the West, Midwest and SE.  For the Midwest and SE, I received this notice "

11-CFPB-033P
Examiner No longer accepting applications
Grade 4B:Application didnt score high enough to be reviewed more details
Application didn't score high enough to be reviewed".  Therefore, they are scoring and then reviewing.  I think they are doing internal first, vets and then external.

2500 apps is enormous and they would have to have some kind of way not to read all resumes.

However for the West region I received "Eligible based on self-certification".  I haven't been referred as of yet and am not out the game yet when I spoke to HR the other day

Good morning everyone:

Very good points made.  I am not sure about the 2500 application breakdown.  It may be that there is some redundancy with people applying for the status and non-status positions.  Additionally, the "Best Qualified" ranking will not apply to everyone, so that will significantly dwindle down the pool of highly qualified candidates (hopefully).  For everyone that has applied, I hope we all land a position with the CFPB.  I will keep you all in the loop if I hear/receive any correspondence.

Let us continue to be patient and hopeful! Big smile

Cheers!
