I called last week and was told that no one had been selected and that they have until February 17th.

For those who have gone through the training at CFPB, where is their training facility located and how long is the training?

I find it interesting that for the current examiner jobs, it has taken them over 4 months to get to this point. Now, with less than 30 days before the hiring deadline, they are going to contact applicants, schedule and conduct interviews, and then make selections. WOW. I guess then, the people selected will only have 24 hours to make a decision to accept and/or negotiate salary/benefits. Laughable....

Thank you. It was very informative site. I was just curious as to how long training would be if selected.

My orientation took place in DC and was for one week. Other CFPB orientations ranged from a few days to as long as 3 weeks - depending on when the employee was hired. Remember, this is still a fairly new organization, so there have been a lot of changes - one of them was the length of orientation. I don't how long the current orientation sessions are. And, try to be patient. There still may be hope in getting that job. My experience was: applied in October, got a call in February, onboarded in April. YMMV

I can't answer specific to CFPB, but I held a very similar job at a related agency (FDIC) during the financial crisis. Our orientation lasted one week at the office, then we were sent out to a site to shadow a more experienced employee. After two weeks of observation, we came back to the office for ten days of job-specific training. I would think it would be similar for CFPB examiner. Since most of the work is done in the field, the folks to best train you would be the examiners in the field, actually doing the work. Because with this line of work, there can be a difference on how things are supposed to work, "on paper, in the manual" and how things actually work in the field.

Nothing here either....they are getting close to that Feb 17th deadline. Maybe we will get offered jobs without interviews.

I wasn't able to get back with them until after 5, so since Monday is a holiday, I'll have to wait until Tuesday to even talk to them. They probably want to schedule an interview or ask me if I'll accept something in another region.

As a current employee of the CFPB. You may want to know that sometimes they post positions and simply don't hire from that posting. Things change, requirements change, they may decide that they no longer want a certain grade. Then two months later another posting will come out with the same jobs with slightly different description for the job or responsibilities or qualifications. I am often amazed at how short handed we are and how difficult it is to find qualified candidates for the open positions. Stay positive and keep applying. Great organization, with a lot of growing pains and changes constantly.

Retired 2012, what's the latest? You seem to be the only one with good news.
