I recently received an offer for a GS-9 2210 Step 1 position with DHS NPPD and the base salary + localty pay for the DC area is coming up as $51,630. The offer letter states a salary of $54,032. Is there any kind of additional differntial pay, additional pay, or a diffrent table I should be looking? I'm confused as to why the salary is about 4.5% higher then then standard OPM table + localty and whether or not this increase over the calculated OPM rate will continue if I progress to full performance 12 level.

2210s have a special salary table - search for that.

2210s, AFAIK, are paid on salary rate table 999C.

Congrats on the job offer.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments. HR hasn't been the...easiest, place to get information pulled from. It looks like the following structure would be in place assuming no change in any sort of wage increases congress:

Year 0, $54,032
Year 1, $60,344
Year 2, $74,872 (999c does not apply)

Does this look correct? Are there any other special rates that would kick in at 12? The OPM special rate site is helpful but not the easiest to find things on.

Also, if anyone has any questions on the hiring process I can give some information. From application to TO it was less than a month with a direct hire authority (currently getting cleared). I've been very shocked at the speed, as I've had other government apps stay open for years. Now I need to make a decision if its worth the huge salary cut to take the job...
