Has something happened to the Fort Sill/Lawton area. It was not that bad when I was last there but that was a while ago. Isn't the ADA school function moving there from Ft. Bliss (or maybe has already moved there)? |

Nothing is wrong with Lawton, but like most other military towns, it completely relies on the military for it's survival and doesn't build any industry besides military support which can only get it so far. That's why places like Fayetteville, Radcliff, Watertown, etc. will never become a place people want to actually settle in.
13A - Too many runs to Geronimo's Grave and too many hours clocked at Snow Hall over 10 years....

13A - Too many runs to Geronimo's Grave and too many hours clocked at Snow Hall over 10 years.... Since Im at Ft Bragg Ill attest to the Fayetteville environment. Its not so much people dont want to settle here because its a military town - which is true mind you. Ft Bragg comprises about 85,000 personnel (or will after FORSCOM and USARC finish relocating). No one wants to settle here because of the, uh, murder rate... Its also one of the largest drug running corridors in NC, and the east coast. There are parts of Fayetteville worth settling down in, but the town as a whole? Hell no.

Just curious, how frequently (based on your assessment) do GS-2210-13s come around at Ft Sill; only asking because you seem to have an interest and I am in the market now...
