Question: Is the DOI currently experiencing a hiring freeze?

If so, does anyone know how long it is supposed to last?

Thanks!

I just got a call to set up an interview for a Program Assistant Position.  They said that they were operating under the Continuing Resolution, so they had to fill a position that had been slated for GS 4,5,6,7 at the 4 level.  So, they should be hiring, but maybe not at every GS level.  Does not look like an all out freeze, though.

I got a TO under "continuing resolution" as well. What does that acutally mean? Will I be hired now or wait till 2012 funding is passed?

Interior is not under a agency-wide hiring freeze for all occupations.  There is a freeze on IT positions as part of the IT transformation and some parts of the agency may have hiring freezes in place. Many parts of the agency are moving cautiously with all the budget uncertainty.

One of the applications I recently submitted says the position I applied to was not funded through the continuing resolution.

I work for DOI and we are preparing our announcements for next year's seasonals.  No word around here about a freeze Smile

This is probably a temporary freeze until full funding is available.
