The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 230,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. Had my interview this week by phone for the New York office. It was about 30 minutes long and they asked for my references after we were done. After my interview I received an email with instructions on submitting an essay via Wonderlic. Now I just wait to see what happens.

I am in the same position, different location. While awaiting feedback for another ISA (GS 6) announcement on top an ISO (GS 5/9) announcement.

I also am waiting for an ISO position I applied for since decemember then had an interview for that in May smh lol. Today I was contacted by HR to submit 2 more references for the ISA position. I am hoping that's a step in the right direction even though I'm sure that is just protocol.

Eventually, 2 references are the preliminary step in the right direction.

Received feedback from both ISA (GS 6) & ISO (GS 5/9) announcements, and unfortunately was not elevated to a referral. Ironically, both were for the same service center.

Nevertheless, still have an existing ISA (GS 5/7) pending.

I hate this part of the game lol. Do you know if your references were checked and if you don't mind answering how long ago was your interview?

I don't know if my references were checked or not. My interview was on July 20th over the phone with 2 people. At the end, they ask me for 2 references, and later one I received a writing assessment.

Does anyone working in the New York FO have any insight on when HR will start making offers?
