I see some messages about the relationship between GEHA and United Healthcare.  I'd like to follow up.  I have been a GEHA member for about 20 years and until this year, 2011, all my claims were treated reasonably and usually paid in accordance with the plan.  This year, however, many claims for lab ordered by my doctor during the course of an annual physical have been denied.  My poor doc has resubmitted several times, and each time the denial has said the chart notes and/or diagnosis did not support the lab work.

Open season will be here soon, and while I would like to stay with GEHA as I found it easier to deal with than BCBS, I am concerned that with UHC taking over administration of GEHA claims, this unreasonable claim processing will be the norm.

Have others with GEHA found this?  What plan has proven to be the fairest with claims?
