How realistic is pursuing a disability retirement and what are the benefits of thisI've been on workers comp for 4yrs and wil be 65 in December.  USPS.

There is no financial benefit for you to take DR. You should put in for regular (CSRS ?) retirement before OWCP drops you, which can happen at any time.

Just letting both of you know that from what i read in the language of that bill is that OPM will automatically retire people who fit the new legislation's definitions.  The way I read it:  OPM will do the retirement process FOR YOU.  No need to lift a finger, as obviously they are the ones rushing you OFF the owcp rolls.
