I understand that various agencies are in need of volunteers to assist with cleanup from Katrina. I would like to volunteer for a week long detail. Where can I go/look to find more information?

I haven't heard about this here. In fact, it has been quite some time since there has really been military involvement in my area. They were flying out of England Airfield and distributing food and water, but stopped. They eventually gave away what must have been literally tons of food and water to military and DOD civilians. We still have a whole bunch here at my unit.
A very admirable thing that you want to do, but I haven't heard anything about it and I am in Central Louisiana (the Southern part).

I would try looking around on the OPM, FEMA,and firstgov.gov websites to see what information might be listed. A couple of months ago, a newsletter at my base said DoD employees could volunteer to work for FEMA in support of the hurricane recovery effort. Those assignments were expected to last longer than one week, though.
