Hi,
I hope somebody has an answer to my querry….Here it goes. I am a current DoD employee at GS-9 step 1. Joined federal service (DoD) in May 2004 at GS 7 step 1. The full performance level of my position is GS-11. In May 2005, I got promoted to my current position at GS-9 step 1 and in May 2006, I will be due to be promoted to GS-11 at the salary rate of $51,972.
Now, in the coming months, DoD will be implementing NSPS, a new personnel system which will eliminate the GS system. So by looking at the timing, I am wondering how is this going to affect on my promotion and subsequent salary increase as GS 11 or am I going to loose salary wise as a result of this system?
I appreciate your feedback. Thanks in advance.

I suspect your promotion is safe. There have been many delays in implementing the system. Do you know which spiral you're in? The NSPS website says that the first group, 1.1, has been reduced to 11,000 employees, with a rollout date of 30 April.

Thanks for your quick response. I suspect that I am in spiral 1.1 but not quite sure. Where can I find that info?
Thanks again.

The link is quite informative. Thanks.
Based on the article, it appears that my agency is not included in the Spiral 1.1, the first batch of 11,000 employees who may go in effect on April 30.
