I am overseas and have to pay the doctors\hospital bills first and have to wait for GEHA to reimburse me for the bills.    I have been waiting for a month and a half for a $28,000 re-imbursement and this isn’t the only bill waiting.  This is money out of my pocket.  They have labeled the bill as “Work in Progress”.

Do other insurance companies do this?

You need to contact GEHA. International claims can be slow if the insurer needs to translate, etc.

I have had other claims after that date have been approved.  I also sent emails and left voice messages but no reply.  Any claim over $4000 has to be approved by a supervisor and it has been sitting with the supervisor for awhile.
