Politicians want the public think they are doing what is best.  They find it easy to pick on the federal employee.

This will be an interesting year.  Hopefully the politicians will be too busy running for re-election and not have the time to pick on fed workers.

Dosen't matter to me. I won't be voting for Obama under any conditions. He is the worse president since Carter. I know all about what Bush did, but a lot of this started under Carter and continued under Clinton, et.al. My job is secure and I'm not worried about anything. My interest is getting rid of Obama.

Well, aren't YOU ever "special?"  You are secure so you don't worry.  Well, I have been retired for over 7 years from Fed employment but I DO still worry for my friends and former coworkers who are so disrespected.

Even after you retire, congress can mess with your retirement.

I'm not "special", I just know how to handle my finances. Tough luck if you don't. It's called personal responsibility. Try it sometime. Personally, I don't go for blaming my troubles on anyone 'cept for that guy in the mirror. If your job is gone and you don't have enough $$$ to make it, why is that anyone else's fault? Oh, that's right....I'm supposed to spread my wealth around, check!

Good grief, scrappie.  You sound like a bitter old troll.  Good luck with that.  Me, personally, I am fine with my finances.  I pay my credit card(s) in full each month, enjoy our home we built just before retirement, still manage to eat most days and I appreciate the wind at my back and sunshine in my face.  Life, Laugh & Love.  Don't growl.  Makes your face stay that way.

There's an old saying scrapple....

But for the grace of God, there goes I.

Get sick, cancer and run out of your money. It happens. I hope it doesn't happen to you, however, you have no empathy for your fellow worker, or co workers, or ex coworkers.

You know what they say........."what goes around........"
It's all in your future. Not your past.

LOL Is this a post from 2008 or are you not aware that  McCain (RINO) will not be on the ticket? Most people that would say this did not vote for McCain in 2008 and would not vote for a republican (enen though most are RINOs) anyway. I agree, we are not being presented very good candicates on either side. When that happens the only thing we can do is vote for the lesser of the evils. Barry has beyond a doubt prooven that he not good for this country at all. Hell, anymore he can't even read his teleprompter without being painfully obviouse that he hasn't got a clue of what he's reading. Sooner or later we will luck out and get someone we can actually depend on and believe in. That won't be this time around.

LOL!!!! Don't know how much truth there is to it but my neighbor said only 57% of citizens are paying income taxes at this point. That would be a good indication that we're running out of other peoples money. It's time to allow those that actually WORK for their income to keep more of their income instead of stealing their income to pay for entitlements or "FORCED CHAIRTY" that goes to those who are too lazy to work or too lazy to show the initiative to climb a career ladder.

Embarrassed my bad, meant McCain 2008. Obama 2012. I assumed you'll would understand the shorthand as well, McCain isn't on the ballot for 2012.

but aren't we all blaming each other? fed/wanna be feds blame vs. politicians vs. hard working/planing general public vs. clueless/sheep general public vs. big business vs. military vs....

The lesser evil WAS suppose to be Obama. How has that worked out?
That shrinking tax base that was inflated by home ownership was also deflated by greedy politicians and bank managers giving loans to people who couldn't afford but look at how high home ownership rates are. We are all to blame.

A divided nation can not stand.
There's something wrong with our logic.

Your neighbor should get a good lesson in taxation. Many that DON'T pay taxes, do so because of credits and deductions. There are scores of hard working folks that have mortgages and children and write-offs, and they fall into that category as well. Also, remember that one can write off almost all their taxes, pay none, and STILL get a refund. That's wrong too.

There's more to it than a simple phrase like you (your neighbor) just tossed around.

Look at GE for example. Many are complaining about high corporate tax rates, and that we have the highest in the world, at 35%.  GE paid ZERO in taxes due to write-offs and write-downs. (on the good side, they pay people to work, so jobs are there)

That's why I was suspicious of Obama (2008), for all of his let's tax the rich, there was no talk of closing the loopholes. Only in this coming election is he mentioning the loopholes. BUT the rep party is making it sound like it's all about a tax rate or socialism.

like wise healthcare. yes it's expensive but why? a part is pharma and the other part is litigation/insurance for doctors and hospitals. Unless you deal with those, healthcare is still expensive and will continue to increase. And as a result premiums will continue to raise. And people who couldn't afford, still can't afford, but are mandated to somehow afford. With ObamaCare they are screwed. Get rid of ObamaCare we all are still screwed. Because ultimately, no we can't have people fend for themselves (that's how diseases spread - TB). That and how can the gov manage a national health insurance when it's still struggling with Medicaid/care? Prioritize.

My thing, the current rep noms are not speaking to these (I need to double check Ron Paul). All they are saying are extreme rhetoric to pamper to a small but powerful group of voters.

Federal employment is screwed up because everyone likes to point to 'the numbers.' Problem is statistical numbers and graphs can be twisted to justify whatever actions are needed. This is a well known fact among statistician which is why they look at the data as well as the analysis. They do this but it seems too hard for everyone else.

as a nation, we need critical thinkers.
we need to come to a middle ground.
we need a new industry as a country.
and mostly, we need to stop blaming.
