I am needing some clarification on how the DIA decision making/hiring process works. Just a little back ground, I was an Operations Specialist first class in the United States Navy with 15 years of active service before sustaining a combat related injury. But because of my duty stations I had more of an Intelligence Specialist duty. I have been to intelligence, terrorism, and space and missile analyst schools at Fleet Intelligence Training Center, Pacific and the 21st Space Wing, and I also have joint operations experience. I will be completing my degree in Political Science (National Security Studies) in May. I was placed on TDRL (temporary disability retirement list) in May 2003, then transferred to PDRL (permanent disability retirement list) in April 2008, with a 30% rating. So I filled out the SF-15 for the 10 point veterans preference and any additional paperwork, and began applying for Intelligence jobs January of 2011. I have applied to all 16 agencies, but the DIA process for some reason is not making sense to me. I currently have 12 active jobs, dating back to April 2011 to present. And I have received emails for DIA stating that my information for the currently active jobs are being reviewed. And other than that, I've haven't heard anything else. What should my next step be?  I applied for the hiring event for the 27th of feb 2012, and the application is still active, but I never heard anything from DIA. When or even should I contact the human capital office.

Check the status of your application in their system to see if it is still active.

I received a negative reponse via email to the hiring event on 27 Feb in Charlottesville.

The application is still active, and I didn't receive an email indicating either a positive or negative answer.

Wouldn't put too much stock in an application still showing as "active"...I still have some "active" applications going back a couple of years as well. The hiring events do have a date on the announcement that says what date you'll be contacted by if selected for an interview, however, so you can probably consider yourself not selected if you aren't contacted by then.
