Who is "they"?  (Which agency?)  Seems late in the year to reap benefits for this FY.

Agencies can lower the offer to less than $25,000.

Only congress can raise the VERA/VSIP to be above $25k.  This is just wishful thinking.

USAF
A third round of VERA/VSIP applications will be accepted from 1-18 May 2012. Our goal is to give employees who may want to consider applying for a VERA/VSIP, enough time to request and receive a retirement computation from the Benefits and Entitlements Service Team (BEST) at the Air Force Personnel Center, San Antonio, TX. The phone number for the BEST is 1-800-525-0102. The official announcement will be late March, early April.

To everyone else - please note - I said I WISH they'd make it higher - also - it is not IMPOSSIBLE that the amount can be increased - it is improbable. think positively. Thumbs Up

Physicsdog I've heard of the May 1st Vera/VISP, but I've also heard Wright Patt will also be offering another 1 Sept.

I got mine and I'm out the door 30 April. Sure hope I get at least 70% of an interim payment.  I can live on that amount. Clap

Good Luck physicsdog.

Good For You - Enjoy your retirement and I will be envious for a little longer...

I reach my 20 years on July 28th so we'll see what pops.

Hope you get 99% of your interim!!!

Each agency controls the window and amount.  The max amount is $25K, but agencies could offer less.

A lot of agencies like you off the rolls by May or June and use labor savings to pay for the buyout.  Others just want you off the rolls by 30 September since the billet is not funded the next fiscal year.
