Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is an independent agency of the United States federal government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of retirement, disability, and survivors' benefits. To qualify for these benefits, most American workers pay Social Security taxes on their earnings; future benefits are based on the employees' contributions. (Source: Wikipedia)

My situation is as follows. Currently in another agency as a permanment employee as a paralegal. However, I am an attorney and looking for that federal attorney gig. A couple of openings just opened up at a ODAR office for 2 year term positions, may be extended up to four years opportunities. Take the risk or not? No moving necessary as it is in the same federal building. ??? I am leaning on taking the risk as I want to be an attorney and need that experience and hopefully thy will make be permanent one day? Any attorney advisors for SSA out there who were hired as term and became permanent?

Also, if I do get it, I only have one more year for my 3 years in service. As a term would that still count towards my 6 hours of leave per pay period?

Thanks you for any input.
