Not really related here, but I just happened to notice that "D-Day" at the post office coincides with the tenth anniversary of the date you joined this forum.

Service Standard Change On Hold???
Management at Carol Stream
P&DC engaged in several Town Hall meetings with employees informing them of
the Service Standard Change (May 19 2012) & Network Optimization (June
2012-Feb 2013) Infusing the employees with the idea of "NEW WORLD" processing of
Mail, which virtually would eliminate Tour 1 and reactivate Tour 2. Which is now
nearly non-exisitent for Clerks with the number of employees remaings consistent
on Tour 3. Employee retreat rights would have been activiated. In-Section
bidding would have occurred & also open bidding for over 90% of new F/T
Tradiitional bids with different starting times and N/S days also NTFT Bid
assignments with 4/10 schedules & of course abolishments, etc... This was
all to be completed by May 19, 2012 when the bids would take effect with May
18th being the last day of "OLD WORLD" processing at Carol Stream P&DC.
Almost a week into canvassing of employees for retreat, insection... all of a
sudden was told to "Put on Hold" no further explanation give to the Union. I
have checked the media outlets dont see any evidence yet of congressional
intervention and nothing in writing yet from USPS headquarters. Hopefully the
slowing down of this unmanned freight train will give congress time to deal with the elephant in the room that being HR 1351.
