Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX-01) spoke on the House floor concerning the United States Post Office's decision to close one of east Texas' postal processing facilities. He addressed the map error made by the management at the USPS and calling for the reduction of USPS management. Calling them "worst than stupid", "incomtetent", "morons" and "mental giants".

I'm glad he's telling congress what we've known for years, decades even.

Pretty well says it all Flashback, and answers a question I asked earlier. It seems as if, and is shown here that, on a per-capita basis, that management has blossomed as craft was decreased. Head quarters actually increased at a time when Donahoe said he was decreasing that level. Breaking it all down it says that management has now 1 managerial type for every 7 employees of craft, and 1 manager at local level for every 8 to 9 craft employee's. Worse than that it says that the IG's office has increased 10 fold. Is there really a need for that many IG's, along with the Postal Inspectors who are not in that number? All crafts were reduced by a 2.13 %, while senior management was increased by 0.93 %.  Looks to me as if the upside down pyramid just got a little heaver at the top. Just more dead weight on our backs to crush us even more. But that seems to be managements philosophy, How many straws can they add onto us before they break our backs. The problem with their thinking is they forgot the laws of physics, sooner than later that extra weight will topple them over, and they will have the furthest to fall, and all that dead weight will come tumbling down on them.

Here's a little tidbit to consider. Federal Education laws say that a teacher is to have no more than 27 students to supervise, and all class's are kept to that max number except, when an exception is filed for additional students. Mind you we are talking children here. The USPS management thinks that their managers are so weak, or that we as craft are so immature as that their supervisors can only manage 8 to 9 of us. Go figure. Most corporate business maintains management at a level of 20 to 30 workers for every 1 person in management. If Donahoe wants to act like this is more of a private enterprise then he need s to reduce the management numbers 1st and bring the operating pyramid more in line with the private sector.

What he says might be true, but isn't it ironic that a politician is calling anyone "worst than stupid", "incompetent", "morons" and "mental giants" when they can't agree on anything.
