I saw that there would be an announcement opening for the position in case anyone is interested. Equivalent to 1811. Kind of a difficult career field since they live overseas almost their entire careers.

I'm pretty sure they don't want us sharing what is on the exam, and it didn't really seem like something you can study for. I can say that there is a writing portion, and a multiple choice portion. In the writing portion, they give you 25 minutes, and on the multiple choice you get 3 minutes per question, and there are over 40 questions. After you finish the questions, you can upload your documents.

On a side note, the amount of work and hardship involved the pay sure is crappy. I can see this as being a stepping stone to something better.

Fatcat, I disagree. I feel like this specific process is designed to make sure that only the people that want this type of job get hired in the end. I think that's why a lot of people apply 3 times or more before they get hired.

No worries, sounds like it will be similar to the FBI test--mostly behavioral questions. Thanks!

So, is anyone else having this problem?
After passing the intial exam, they ask you to fill out and submit a number of documents, including OF-306 (Declaration for Federal Employment).
However, the security setting on it won't let me sign it from Adobe Reader. So how do I print it out and sign it and still send it as a PDF file with my application if I don't have anything but the free version of Reader?
I can scan it back into my computer as a JPG, but I don't think that'll work. Anyone have any solutions to this?

This is part of the test, if you figure it out, you're through to the next stage. Jk
Just print it, sign it and scan it as a pdf file before you upload.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but I can't scan it as a PDF for whatever reason with my computer.
Ah, I'll just go to the library. I'm sure I can scan a doc in as a PDF there.
Thanks for the response.

I haven't heard anything either, other than that forum person. They are probably still going through the list and adding people. I bet they will have another date in DC, since this area is pretty big.

I got an email to schedule the 4-step assessment (I'm in Indy by the way).
However, my eyesight is really bad and there is no way I will be able to meet the uncorrected vision requirements or even get LASIK/PRK (trust me, I've tried).
I have worn soft contacts forever and they don't give me any problems what so ever.
How set in stone is the vision requirement? Is there a way to get a medical waiver?

Yes, I just applied for Diplomatic Security Service Special Agent. Has it really been 2 years since the last invitation? Good luck to everyone.

Since the 2015 application period, has anyone here received an invitation to interview? I went through the process in 2013 and was offered an interview, but foolishly self-eliminated prior to meeting for personal reasons. Hoping they offer me another chance...

I also applied for the most recent opening and haven't heard anything. I can't imagine that I would have failed the initial online assessment so I guess I'll just keep on waiting.
