Just curious when we can expect to get W2's and Social Security 1099's?
Will they be available online at OPM Services Online or just by U.S. Mail? I apologize if this question was previously discussed!!

Neither will be available on OPM services online. Only the 1099 for your civil service pension will be available there. And last year, OPM indicated those would only be available online and not mailed. In fact, I just checked, and, surprisingly, the 1099 for 2013 is already available there.

SSA will issue any 1099 for Social Security benefits and any W-2 comes from the employer. These are generally mailed out in the last week of January.

Yes, I also was surprised to see my 1099 for 2013 show up so soon on OPM's web site.

And my wife just recently received her 1099 from SSA, so others should see them soon.

I said W2's and meant to say 1099R; my bad. Anyway I checked with OPM Services Online and got the 1099R. Just need the 1099 from the SSA and I am ready to begin income taxes.

The IRS will begin accepting returns via e-file 31 Jan.

Thanks for the replies!!
