My timeline so far:

10/2/2017: Resume submitted (Direct Hire Authority)
10/17/2017: Interview
10/31/2017: Tentative "Selection" letter received, signed, and returned
1/11/2018: Tentative "Offer" from AFPC
XX/XX/XXXX: Firm Offer
XX/XX/XXXX: EOD

I was told that my package should move faster than typical because it is direct hire and I do not require a physical. The amount of time this takes can be pretty nerve-wracking.

Position: GS-9 with Department of Navy
Announcement closed: September 5th
Referred: September 15th
Contacted for interview: September 26th
Interviewed: October 3rd
Tentative offer: October 24th
Final offer: January 5th
EOD: January 8th

This was probably my 15th or so application in USAJobs. I had been referred most of the time, but only contacted for an interview twice. Was selected for an HR position from first interview but the announcement was canceled, assuming due to federal hiring freeze. Happy the way things turned out though.

Hi I am new to the federal hiring process. I applied for a position with a federal public defender's office, however I submitted my application through their website, not through the usajobs.gov website. The job was also posted on usajobs. has anyone every applied for a federal job in this way, and if so, do they still follow the same timelines discussed in this thread? Will they still contact me about whether I am a candidate or not like a lot of you get on usajobs? My job closing was on January 19th. At this point I have not heard anything. Thank you!
