Opened: 12/30/16
Closed: 1/5/17
Applied: 1/4/17
Phone interview: 1/19/17
Verbal TO: 1/19/17
Written TO: 1/27/17 (date on the offer was 1/19/17)
Submitted request for higher step and creditable private sector service for annual leave accrual on 1/27/17
e-QIP update and fingerprints: 2/1/17

I have a DoD secret clearance and this job requires a public trust, I was told that they'd request reciprocity, so hopefully that will not be a long, drawn out process.

I'm in a holding pattern while HR and Security does their thing, I'll see if/when the FO comes along.

I'm in a similar boat. Have a TS and the position requires a Q, which under reciprocity should be easy to transfer... but I've been stuck in a holding pattern since December. I have my fingerprinting appointment tomorrow but they haven't asked me to update my eQip, which to me is odd as I started at a new company since my last renewal. (Fortunately it enabled me to keep my TS active, but it's still weird that I haven't had to do anything with the eQip.)

I asked the security specialist about that, she said it would probably take 2-3 weeks for the reciprocity request to go through. I've switched companies three times since the last time I filled out the e-QIP, so I had a fair number of updates to make on it. I'm hoping I'll get the all clear from security in the next week or two, which would then mean I'm just waiting for the FO to come through.

Heard from HR yesterday that all recruitment activities for the position are suspended indefinitely per the hiring freeze. I asked if that meant the security processing and starting step/creditable service requests submitted in January and February would still be processed in the background, or if everything was shut down till they received further direction, but the HR specialist said he didn't know.

Back to the holding pattern...

(Some) good news from HR today! They received the go-ahead to move forward with processing folks who were caught in the freeze. HR said they're waiting on me to clear security before they reach out with the FO and EOD date options.

I'm not sure what the holdup on the security side is--besides my active DoD Secret, I had two other Public Trust investigations, for IRS and DOL (both contractor positions) go through, both submitted after 2/1.

After a couple of calls and emails over the past few weeks, finally heard back from security--they're processing 200+ investigations that were held up by the hiring freeze in the order in which they expire, and they haven't gotten to mine yet. No clue where I fall in their stack of investigations to go through, hopefully it's not too far down the pile.

Welp, despite getting my TO, fingerprints/badge photo taken, etc. in February, was just informed that because HHS is under a partial freeze my position has been canceled.

*Sigh.* I hate this administration. :(
