So for me it’s been a month since eQip was submitted and none of my references have been contacted. Should I be concerned ??

I think that is pretty normal. It has been a month for me as well and no one from my EQIP has been contacted. I was called by the person who is reviewing my EQIP and did an hour long phone interview with him about 3 weeks after I had submitted it but that is as far as it has gone.

At what point were you called for your drug screening/test? I submitted my e-QIP 10 days ago and it's been quiet on the home front.

I haven’t been called in for a drug test yet either. I’m obviously available whenever they call to do so I’m just anxious as they haven’t called at all lol

Per the tentative offer, I can start before the investigation is complete. If it requires security clearance, however, I shouldn't be able to start correct? HR told me that the BI should only take a few days to clear and would only ask for info from the previous 5 years. Doesn't a security clearance ask for 7? Thanks! You can start before the investigation is complete if you are granted a contingency. Basically you will start working as the investigation continues. obviously if you do not pass the investigation then you will be let go but the requirements to be granted a contingency are more strict so that would be a very rare situation. I'm sure the contingency is what HR was referring to as I have never heard of any type of clearance being complete in only a few days. As far as the previous years, mine was for 7 years for public trust but I do not know if confidential is different.

Hello all,

The process still felt like an eternity even though I know it was short compared to most.

Hi all - I've been scouring through the forums and I am not sure quite where I am in this process so I thought I might ask for some wisdom. I've done the screening work and have had my references called, however no TO.
Below is my timeline for a GS-11 position with USACE.
7/26 - Job posted 8/05 - Posting closes 8/08 - Referred Notice 8/30 - Interview scheduled 9/04 - Given writing assignment due back in 48 hours 9/05 - Submitted my answers 9/10 - Interview with 11 questions in 30 minutes (I think it went well) 9/16 - References called (1 missed, he called back on the 18th) 9/18 - I was called from their location (same phone number) and answered to nobody being on the line. I called back and left a voicemail
nothing as of now...
I emailed the hiring manager yesterday asking if there was anything I needed to complete and have not heard anything as of today (5pm).
Any ideas?

Can contribute finally on Timeline to TO
JA closed July 5 applied July 5 2019 8/15 referral notice update on USAjobs (emailed notification) 8/16 Called for interview 8/27 Interviewed via Phone (25 mins, I timed it)panel of 3. I requested phone interview and explained travel costs. They were very accomodating. 8/28 Thank you note sent. NO response 10/1 TO received
That's it. There was NO contact after interview till TO. I did not contact HR for an update. I know this can be a rough wait and for me it was too but I figured if I get the offer I get the offer. Still applying though. Found another great opp in Wash DC.
Agency: DHS Hope this helps

I had a TO two weeks ago, and filled out the OF-306 and piv application and fingerprints. I received the invite to complete the e-qip (SF 85p) just a week ago, and submitted that on Saturday. it’s for a moderate risk public trust position, so no clearance required. My future sup thought the final offer would come within 2 weeks of the TO, but I haven’t heard anything yet. Interestingly enough, the hiring official called me yesterday saying their office had heard i’d be starting in 2 weeks, but they weren’t sure if it was accurate since the start date fell in the middle of a pay period. I told them I hadn’t heard anything yet or gotten a final offer. Then, my status on usajobs also changed yesterday to selected. Did this happen to anyone right before getting their final offer? I was under the impression that I’d get my start date before the background investigation was completed, but have read different things.

Seeing all this gives me mixed feelings. There isn't much I can contribute on my end since I applied for one of the positions on July, was referred in August and interviewed in September. It's been about a month since my interview and I have no way of knowing whether I'm going to get the job or not. Trying to stay positive...

10/18/2019 - still nothing since my phone interview with the security personnel on 8/23/2019. At this point though I would rather it take longer because my current job is a State University and they let us off for 2 weeks (paid) during Christmas, so if I could start after the new year that would be the dream
