I know there is another thread about this from last years posting. Did anyone apply to this announcement? Has anyone heard anything yet? Also is there anyone that can give me any more info about the actual position?

I emailed the Kansas City OPM and they said we should start hearing back in 4 weeks.

I was just contacted by the Charlotte Field Office. They told me to stand by for further information, and that an phone interview will be conducted either Monday or Tuesday.

Hello kzvo91,
Please don't take my qualifications and compare them with yourself, because you never know. Im prior military (Infantry), but i recently joined the National Guard and reclasses as an Intelligence Analyst. I started with the government as a Federal Security Guard conducting NCIC criminal background checks, and currently working as a Joint Operations Technician conduction Emergency Management Operations. I will complete my Master's in August 2014. I have been through some tough times for the last couple of years trying to get my foot in the door. My best recommendations is to try your best and curve you goals to what you want, continue education in order to substitute for the lost experience when qualifying for the grade level. Another office just contacted me as well, but im curious what other states have contacted people, and how soon are they trying to hire? Another thing i did was to reclass as an Intelligence Analyst in order to get the Top Secret/SCI clearance to make me more competitive. Just in case you want to consider that route.

Has anyone gotten hired yet? I've been in the adjudication process for a couple of months and hoping it won't be too much longer.

So I am in the same boat as mddlrthr2. Was given an offer letter back in May 2014 and have been waiting on my clearance adjudication for a few months now. In early October 2014, I contacted the ATFE HQ office and spoke to my HR POC's alternate. She told me that for the entire month of September 2014 and the first part of October 2014, all Investigative Analyst clearance adjudications were put on hold in order to process new ATFE Special Agent clearances. She continued on to tell me that this obviously created a backlog of clearances but new adjudications for Investigative Analysts were being received by the ATFE HQ office every day. In the middle of October 2014, I spoke to my HR POC (primary) and she told me that my clearance should be received within a week or two (i.e. by the end of October 2014). I still have not heard anything and I called the ATFE HQ office again today, but my HR POC (primary) was out of the office and her alternate told me that I needed to speak with my primary HR POC to find out the status of my clearance.

Yes, I called yesterday as well. Some people have already been contacted and have a December 15th start date. At this rate, I guess I won't start until either January or February 2015.

I hear ya. Unfortunately, I get the impression that the clearances adjudications are coming in randomly and HR is not able to predict when a particular individual will receive their clearance with any certainty.

I just got my call on Friday evening and should be starting in January (after I get my "official offer letter, which should be within two weeks I was told ... another backlog).

Good luck to all!

I'm still waiting too, I think HR is probably tired of answering my monthly emails asking if anything new has been heard.

I know that its only been about a week. Anyone see any movement? Holidays no doubt slow the process up.

MY HR POC was true to her word and worked during her vacation. I got my offer letter on 12/31/2014 and I report to work on 1/12/2015.
