Njw85,

Its not unusual for a BI to take a year to complete. Last briefing I got I was told its taking on average 300+ days despite DEA paying extra to expedite the investigation. And that 300+ doesn't necessarily include the DEA's adjudication process. The delay is all on OPM's end.

I am right at a year on mine. I submitted the SF-86 early in 2017, met with the investigator in October and he contacted me again in November for additional info. Crickets since then.
I'm a November 2015 applicant.

Hello GearUp,

If a background investigation is wrapped up and sent to the agency, how long does it typically take to adjudicate a clearance? (If there even is a "typically.")

I think I speak for many on this forum in saying that the information you provide us is invaluable in maintaining our sanity; I for one am very thankful for your continued guidance.

Cheers

Hey everyone

Just wanted to drop in and say don't be discouraged its still a yes until its a no. I haven't gotten any interesting updates on my end. Just keeping my ear to the ground and preparing for whatever comes this way.

Congrats to all who have gotten picked for this next class. Is it in March?

ETA... I was looking at the regional offices but how practical is it to live in some of these places? Miami, Los Angeles, San Fran, New York, DC etc. I feel like you wouldn't be able to really "live". How do people survive there with a family? I know that was random but I've been sitting here thinking about it.
