I mean it’s really case by case. For example: Applied: 08/18 Exam: 10/18 Passed Notification: 11/18 Interview: 03/19 Drug Forms: 04/19 Crickets: 04/19-11/19 Medical and Drug Test: 11/19 Background: 01/20 Crickets: 01/20-09/20 Preference Sheet: 09/20 Now I’m still waiting to hear whether I got into the January 2021 academy. I know of one person on this forum (with a similar timeline to mine) who got the call for that academy. Most of us are still waiting and from what I was told we won’t know if we didn’t make it. Staying positive though and hoping for a call!

Like Navy said it depends case by case. You could be waiting another 2 years easily. I applied 2017 and still haven’t made a class. I cleared background/hiring board in 2019. I received a preference sheet for last Feb 2020 class and did not get placed. I am waiting to see if I get placed in this class. There are a few of us still left who applied in 2017 and have not made a class yet. We even had to redo medical since it expired. So you could get lucky and get placed right away or you could have a long road like some of us; for whatever reason wait longer. 🤷♀️

I got the official form for interim top secret clearance yesterday. It was a letter that explained what it is and if they find something they can kick you out. You have to decide on either taking the interim clearance or waiting another 12-24 months for the background investigation to complete.
Here's to hoping this is preceding an offer!

I feel you on those crickets, I had two long stretches of no contact at all. Same application date as you. Here's my current timeline. Applied: 01/19 Exam: 02/19 Passed Notification: April or May maybe? I called them, but don't remember. Does anyone have an idea if BG investigations are done with preference to current position and/or experience? Asking because I am an 8/18 applicant, only waiting on BI, and have been told by HR that I'm in "background investigation status", but I have NOT been contacted by an investigator yet. Does this sound correct? I am currently working in a government position. I understand patience is a virtue here, but have noticed others who had applied after me moving more quickly through the process.

Happy Holidays to all! I was never contacted by a BI after I filled out the current equip in 6/20 and even after I sent in the updated form last month. I had a T5 done on me in 10/2018 for my current job. There hasn’t been too much change since then.
