A couple of threads are balancing info for NJ and NY. Let's keep this thread strictly NY where we can update our progress.

Many of us know Peter L. Griffin received an offer,
I am Peter Griffin without the L.

Has anyone without Veteran status received an offer yet?

Interviewed on 03/29 at 48th St in midtown, went down to 26 Federal Plaza afterwards to get my fingerprints and references were contacted same day. Was told I would be hearing back late April - early May, seems like Northern NJ have been getting called with offers this week, curious to know if anyone vet or not has received any offers yet for NYC

So far I've heard of one person getting an offer today out of NY and he's a vet but he hasn't been online.

I'm located and interviewed in Upstate NY on April 7, 2016. I was fingerprinted the next day and all of my references were checked. I do not have any veterans preference. No offer as of today. Hopefully will hear something soon.

I called the location where my interview was held at 48th St and was told that interviews were still been conducted for the position, wasn't too convinced with that answer though, went to HR at 26 Federal Plaza to inquire and was given the same answer in person, going off Glassdoor and the fact that nobody has posted receiving an offer for NYC this just might be the case, just patiently waiting at this point

Ive honestly gone stir crazy analyzing what i was told. I was results would be in mid may...which I assumed was next week. but I jumped on the bandwagon with everyone thinking we should be getting results since last Saturday. Do we know when the training is supposed to begin for those who were called already?

Someone posted on another forum that their interview was just this past Monday in NYC and they weren't fingerprinted. So I guess they are still interviewing. A few Vets with offers are starting next week Monday, but reporting to their FOs. I hope we get called soon!

yeah they probably applied to another vacancy, because queens is calling for another round of interviews for the vacancy which ended on the 10th. Which training schools starts on may 31st. Im curious about the one controlled by Ms. Brown. meaning the one which ended on 3/03/2016.

I called Ms.Brown yesterday and the recording states that interviews are still going on, although I have not heard about any start dates. Also, it states that they will not respond to status inquiries until the process is over. Has anyone received status updates via usajobs or email??

Does anyone know if there is/was procedure that yup cannot interview while you are bring "considered" for a position?

I am waiting to hear about this position like everyone else, got a call this morning to interview for the call center in Jamaica. I get a call a couple of hours later saying sorry because I'm being considered for another position I couldn't interview unless I had a clear no for the other position and turned it down. I joked saying that I hoped this was code I'm on the list to be hired for this position but they're not ready to make a selection yet. He said he wished he could tell me that but unfortuenly they're two different parts of SSA and don't really talk to each other about hiring. This is probably true but in the back of my mind I was hoping that this was because u was in the list to be hired and they're just not ready to lake offers yet.

As I was writing thus I JUST got a call back and the gentleman told me he ran my "information upstairs" and was informed their was "a change in procedure..." I could be interrview and the interview is back on. Now I, worried that he looked into my status fir the claims specialist position I'm one of the ones on the no go list and that us why they are interested in interviewing me again for the call center position.

Peter I also received a call for an interview. I explained to them I was in consideration for the same position in a different area. I believe I did quite well on the previous interview thus I hope I'm still in the running, and I'm behaving as if I'm still in the running. But the HR staffer simply took note of the areas I was applying for and informed me this was another hiring authority, and the SSA wished to have it staffed by the 31st.

They will not deny you an interview because your are being considered for another position with us.

Mixedchix86, do you know how large this hiring might be? It seems may 31st is too short a notice if most of us have not received a call this far in may.
