I was also referred in October but I haven't heard anything from them. Anyone knows the physical requirements for the second academy fletc? How many push-ups and crunches are we required to do and how many miles do we need to be able to run in order to pass the academy's physical requirements?

The physical activities are just to familiarize us and help us understand what the officers do. It's still not a requirement for graduation like it is for the Officers, it just brings us more into the culture of CBP since the Ag Specialists have been treated as a separate entity since they came from another agency entirely, they used to be in the USDA apart of APHIS which is why we go to an APHIS school first.
I had some more contact with higher ups thanks to joint ops with CBP. Apparently, they are just waiting on funding to give us the go ahead. Everything is there and in place, just waiting for the approval for the funding to go through and we should then be getting our calls. There is no definitive date, the only thing given is in the new year but it should be soon. They are hiring 700 new Ag Specialists over the next two years so we should all be good to go, the only question is when. I looked back at previous years and it seems like everyone reported to their duty stations a month before they actually went to class and that's pretty consistent so hopefully that means smooth transitions for us all.
So as everyone else has done, Happy New Year and let's hope we get some good news soon.

Right now, OPM is backlogged with Background Investigations since they got hacked a couple of years ago. It can take them up to a year to review the background investigation, that's how far they are behind right now which is why the waiver form exists for you to start the job without the background investigation being totally complete. They are able to take a quick view of major points in your background and approve you preliminary so as long as no red flags, they allow you to be hired while they look deeper into all the information.

Hello! Get Ready! I got the call yesterday!!! They wanted me to start on March 6. I didn't accept the offer because I want another port. I applied for Southwest Border. They offered me San Luis, Arizona, Lukeville, Arizona and El Paso, Texas. Edited by user Friday, January 13, 2017 5:36:45 AM(UTC)

Hi everyone!
I got the call as well yesterday for the NW region. They offered me Sweetgrass,MT Oroville, WA Portal, ND International Falls, MN
I accepted Oroville, WA. They said that I have to report on March 6 at Oroville. Then, March 27-July 5 we will have to go to academy training in Frederick, Maryland. Glad I finally got the call. Said I would also get an email with more details in a letter. Here's to hoping everyone else starts getting calls!
Hoping to find a place to live near Oroville as well, anybody with info let me know :)

So, if we were going to the first class, we would have been called already? I've been referred to the scheduling unit since September. Also, what is one supposed to do from the time you report to your station and you are sent to the Academy? Is there some sort of salary during that period? I did ask that and your pay does start as soon as you have to report to your location even before the academy. So, you will get paid the 3 weeks at your location beforehand which is nice. Although, it will be basically three weeks behind because of pay scheduling and processing your information.

Jrvg2002, they just started with the calls. I doubt they've selected everyone already. Keep ya head up. Smary, 16-2 is the announcement number (That's the announcement from late August 2016) Agrodude, I'm from the AGS 16-1 announcement, which was posted early Feb 2016. I believe I was 16-1 or even earlier then because I originally applied at the end of January 2016 or early February 2016

I'm in the 16-1 group but no calls so far, perhaps because I'm in Florida and it is not a very busy region.

Gilbert:
I'm a applicant 16-2 going for Florida too . Did you were refer in October 2016? They didn't close my BI yet , so I guess I have to wait longer . I was hoping to have a spot on the training scheduled for March 2017 but I guess I wont be able ... the process so far has been very slow .

Agrodude, I'm from the AGS 16-1 announcement, which was posted early Feb 2016. I'm 16-1 but I didn't get referred to the scheduling unit until the beginning of September. Still no calls. PR\USVI area, though I'd go anywhere.
