It’s because of the pandemic. It’s temporary until this thing ends. I think the recruiting process is going to take a lot longer until this pandemic somewhat starts to decline.

Ok turned out to be minor. I’m still reporting this month, I just had to do on boarding paperwork online instead of in person. I thought it was going to be a whole different thing, Gladly it is not!

Anyone know if CBPAS's are mandated to take a polygraph and, if so, where exactly does that mandate originate from?

As an example, CBPOs and other CBP law enforcement positions are mandated to take polygraphs through the Anti Border Corruption Act of 2010. If CBPAS's have a polygraph mandate, where does that mandate derive from?

There is no poly requirement for Ag Specialists... unless something changed very recently.

Thank you both.

I had a conversation earlier this week with an ICE applicant who insisted that CBPASs currently had a mandated poly requirement.

Some people just don't know of what they speak.

Anybody know the policy on tattoos? How about hair color, like blue...

I start in the July class.

To answer my own questions.....
Tattoos are fine and any visible tattoos cannot be racist or otherwise offensive.
Weird hair colors, for example blue, are not permitted. Hair color must be basically a natural color.

I received a 'final selection letter' yesterday. It confirmed my EOD of July 6th and provided my supervisor's name and address to report.

What’s Arizona on the offers? Like Nogales or San Luis? No El Paso? And are you a 19-1 applicant?

Finally received the call today!!! I am a 19-1 applicant have been waiting for about 4 months since my drug test and I was offered a lot of opening crucial locations included California, Alaska, Arizona Great Falls and can’t remember which other ones. I accepted Nogales and my EOD is on May 19 and then the academy from Jun 3 till August 29 I believe. So excited anyone else on the same academy or Duty Station?

I'm not an old timer but it really depends on your port. You work in shifts. At my port, we work an alternating work schedule with 10 hour shifts. There's also another schedule option available but I can't remember what it is. My port hours are typically 9:30-8 PM, but many ports are 24 hours, especially the larger ones or border ports. Overtime is generally available from what I can see (at least when flights and cargo are still coming in regularly), and yes you move up every year until you are an GS-11.

Old-timer here :-)
As was mentioned above, much depends on your port, but generally, "YES" to all of your questions. And you will move up in grade until you reach GS-12, (not 11), and then move up the 10 steps after that. You can go higher than 12, but you'll need to be an Ag Supervisor to do that.
Congratulations.

20-1 here got my call today EOD Sep 21st and Academy Oct 6th. So after some deliberation I did make my choice of duty station but after a nights sleep I'm now having regrets. Anybody got experience in calling them up and trying to get that changed (among the available choices)? Or am I out of luck once the choice was made?

update: I was able to change my duty location one time so all good.
