Maybe Frank will respond... I imagine it might be hard to accommodate, depending on where you are travelling, given the number of times per shift that you would need to express. Maybe you can get some ideas from this: https://www.opm.gov/poli...nursing-mother-guide.pdf

If you are under the bargaining unit, it looks like this MOU is still active: http://www.va.gov/LMR/do...ing_Mothers_9-6-2012.pdf . It doesn't directly address how the breaks will be accommodated for someone in the community.
The excuse of, "I read it on FederalSoup..." won't work. Please do your due diligence.

Thank you. Yes I am part of a bargaining unit. I have corresonded via email with HR and they have basically told me I am permitted to pump in my govt vehicle (but we are not allowed to keep food or drinks). The car doesnt provide me with non-public, uninterupted space though, and that is what im most interested in reconciling.

I would like the option, if it becomes absolutely necesary only if Im struggling, to have my duties reassigned to the office so i can pump in a non-vehicle. Do you think the DOL would support that?

The questions you will need to ask yourself (because management will ask) is how long will you need for this accommodation? 2-4 months? A year? Longer? And then you need to request a Reasonable Accommodation through whatever process the VA has set up (I'm not with the VA as EEO so no idea of how they work this process). You need to let your supervisor know what you need, for how long, why you need it, etc. It sounds like you are wanting to modify your daily activities for a temporary period of time. You should lay this out for your supervisor (or whoever takes these requests at the VA).
