In my opinion, the only thing about hearing something from the investigator is that you know they are investigating and you are officially at the next stage in the process....however, my new issue is that they are at the last person to interview and the person is out of the country for a couple of weeks!!!! I was told that they are possibly gonna wait until he comes back to complete....sheeesh, just when I thought it was coming to an end lol....all in all im greatful because I know they have been working on it.......

Good afternoon,
Just an update for people tracking timelines (and me thinking out loud)....my last reference will be interviewed in person today. (hes back from being out of the country). Was told that this would "wrap things up". So now after the investigator sends in the report, it will be sent for review and/or adjudication. Then if everything is okay, I will be put on a "cleared list" and await a call from HR with a final offer. (HOPEFULLY) This in itself may be a long process so I am prepping myself to wait and be patient. I am also not sure where i will be on the list to get to an actual adjudicator but I will keep you posted. Have a good one.

Just found out I received a successful adjudication notification today! What's the general timeframe from being adjudicated to final job offer to start date usually?

Great news! I am happy for you! Congrats! The FO cannot be as long as the other stages lol. Keep up posted. Also how long were you in adjudicaton, from time your BI sent in his information to be looked at by the adjudicators? If you dont mind me asking.

Question: has anybody ever been sent to adjudication without any interviews (with you or the people on your file)?
Some timelines I'm seeing are only a month from BI adjudication...

Well it seems that my background investigation has started. One of my SF-86 references just contacted me to tell me that somebody from DIA called him Friday to ask if he could be a reference for me. I just did my poly on Tuesday. I then talked to my CPC rep on Thursday and he told me that he was sending my poly results to the security office as he was speaking to me. So I'm really surprised that my BI is starting this fast after my poly. I also assumed that the lead background investigator would interview me first and ask about my references before contacting my references.

I think that's what happened in my case. I had a recent investigation for my current contractor job and it appears they used that. Still took them nine months to adjudicate it.

Interesting. I can't see that being the case for me, since my last investigation was 2014. But that's good to know, Someoldguy.

As was mine! JPAS shows it was completed in early 2014. Of course I went to CPC back in June of last year so that investigation was a lot fresher back then :)

I am hoping they keep the waiver in place that says TS/SCI only has to be updated every six years instead of five... otherwise I will have to do this all over again by the time I start :(

Mine wasn't TS, just Secret. Maybe they don't mind and just take that and add the poly and psych tests. I wouldn't mind that, although I wouldn't have an issue doing the interviews. As long as we move forward, right?

Some of the DIA positions that I've applied for have had a status change, while others haven't. The position that I got my cjo for says "Accepted." And a few others say "Non-select."

I did my poly last Tuesday. And at least four of my SF-86 references have been contacted for my BI.

Good so you are moving in the right direction! I hope we both get to the "other side" lol Its been a long process and now that I think im at the last stage, im getting a little more impatient, but I know it is still gonna be a while before I hear anything. I have no idea if you can check your status periodically. I read that some people were at least able to get very basic information from their "sources".

You might be able to check your status if you know somebody who can look up your file on JPAS.

My offer was in Dec....my file has been sent over for the final stage earlier this month....in my wild hopes, since my background is very boring, that maybe just maybe it wouldnt take as long as what i have read on here but, who knows when my case will pop up for an adjudicator to review.
