I hope everyone had a good New Year.
Has anyone heard of an individual being dropped from the hiring pool after an extended length of time of hiring managers having no interest or slots available?

I just got reimbursed for my CPC visit, so someone is still working in 2019. I'll take it as a good sign.

No. Maybe that happened at one time. But under the current hiring system, we stay in the cleared hiring pool indefinitely. However, I'm sure this will eventually change. But when is anybody's guess. It could be years. |

I don't know about getting dropped from the pool... nobody has reported that here... but a few seem to have found contractor jobs with the clearance they got through DIA and gotten on with their lives.
Over on the NSA forum, some people have reported being dropped, but they don't have a 'hiring pool.' Instead it seems like they make tentative offers to several people and the first one who clears gets the job? So the others get an email that the position is no longer available but they are free to apply to other jobs.
Not sure how NGA handles it.
As for CIA, who knows... |

It could be years. From DIA Hiring Pool: "Your clearance is good for 2 years past the date you were notified of your successful adjudication" I believe if you have not been picked up within 2 years past date of successful adjudication notification, then your clearance will expire. Once your clearance expires, you should be dropped from the cleared hiring pool cause you are no longer cleared That is my understanding. Edited by user Thursday, January 3, 2019 5:55:25 PM(UTC)

That may be true, but at least nobody on this forum has reported such a turn of events. Also note that if you get a contractor job using that clearance, that will (or should) keep the clearance "active" |

First time posting in here.
I recently found out that I was cleared. I am not finding many that are in the OMI billet, but does anyone have any idea on how long it takes to get a FJO? Also on how they ultimately choose your location. I am repeatedly told that its basecd on business needs, but I am eager to know where I will be sent so that I can prepare.
My timeline is
June 2018- CJO July 2018- Background started August 2018- Med, Poly, Psych October 2018- CLEARED
However HR dropped the ball and did not notice I was cleared until JANUARY 2019 so I am just placed in the cleared hiring pool. I found out I was cleared by reaching out to a security POC and was shocked to find out it was already done. I informed HR and they located the info within 15 mins and sent me a cleared email along with next steps.

Btw, what is OMI?

I see a lot of people talking about contracting jobs until they hear back from DIA, where do you go to find those positions at? is there a specific place or do you just use sites like indeed or glassdoor?
