I am reaching out and starting a thread for the Finance and Acquisition career field to share information about their specific experiences during the hiring process. How many of us are there? I havent seen many of us on the boards. I am from the December 2016 event.

Since you went to CPC in April, then that means that your BI took a month or less to complete. I did my poly in mid-May, which means that hopefully my BI is almost completed. I still haven't been interviewed by an investigator, though I have talked twice with the lead investigator who lives in another part of the country from where I live currently. I talked to him today and he told me that if the other investigator hasn't called me by next week then I should call him again.

Thanks Demrob75 for starting this thread.
I received a CJO at the May 2017 Baltimore hiring event. Paperwork submitted to CPC 6/12.
Waiting to hear when my CPC trip will be scheduled.
I have no idea when would be the best time to tell my supervisor about the offer but seems a bit early now.

Yes, I selected the DC area. I actually like it out there. It will be a big difference from Texas in the cost of living, but hopefully I won't have to slum too long. lol

okay, it looks like a lot of us selected the dmv area. If everything goes right for me and i get successful adjudicated, i wouldnt mind working at fort meade in Maryland. A few of the people I have met on here from the Dec event are receiving their final offers, so it looks like there is movement. It does take a long time, but I believe that its worth waiting for. I will keep you posted on my progress and if any of you have questions, feel free to drop me a line.

Hello,
I attended the Baltimore hiring event (May 2017) and have completed my CPC. Currently waiting to hear from a BI or hear from those listed on my SF86 that they have been contacted by a BI. Which ever comes first. I am hoping to be places in the DMV area. Very nervous about that aspect of the job. My experience thus far has been great! I am even more excited about the position from my experience at CPC.

Sunnydays, How was your CPC experience? I'm scheduled for next month and I'm so antsy about it.

As far as placement goes, i have read that a lot of people will train near headquarters...i dont know that as a fact but, ive seen it on multiple posts. I believe the person that received his FO a couple of days ago was in a different department (same hiring event though) is gonna be in the dc area. I live in MD and work in DC but Fort Meade is closer to my house and would cut my commute down considerably although I have no gripes at all about working in DC. When I filled out the application I selected DC and Fort Meade as my 2 choices, so hopefully they take that in consideration but if not, oh well I guess I will be moving. My friend with the FJ was at CPC March and was cleared in May, FO in June.....although they say you cant compare time lines because everyones' background is different. I still kind of use it as a refernece point for my sanity...lol

For those of you who completed CPC and went into the BI phase, how long did it take for the BI to start after you left CPC? I recently left CPC.

Also, do you receive an email from CPC confirming the next step to the BI?

I don't know for sure when my BI started. I had to go to CPC twice and my BI may have begun a week after I went to CPC the first time but two months before I went back to CPC for my poly. And no, I didn't receive an email from CPC confirming the start of my BI. Apparently, DIA doesn't automatically tell you when you go on to the next step, whether it's the BI, adjudication, or the cleared list.

@Demrob75 The process so far seems to be going well. My CPC is scheduled . I'm 10 min. away from Fort Meade so it would be great for commute. But anywhere is fine.

What is the promotion potential for the Finance & Acq career field? I got offered a GG-12 wondering if 13 would be the promotion potential. Does it vary by location?

I'm not sure, but the range was up to 13, so I'm guessing you will progress there. Not sure what happens after that.
