Too many lurking, not enough talking. We can talk about everything except DIA here. How was everyone's 4th? Anyone do anything cool?

I'm just bored out of my mind while waiting to find another Pre-FJO job in DC. Fortunately, I have a phone interview for a position with a small firm in DC on Friday. I really hope that it goes well.

I can't wait to be on my own for a while, I absolutely hate cooking...so I'm going to be adventuring for dinner every night.

Lol nice. I can't wait to have an FJO and a way out of this job I'm in.

I've had that feeling before. where you just despise waking up in the morning and going in. Sitting in your car in the parking lot milking every minute of freedom.

Receiving an FJO would mean a lot more freedom for me in more ways than one.

It's worse when it's 12-14 hour days, no overtime, toxic leadership in a hostile work environment.

I'm really sorry about your current job, man!

Sounds like my last 2.5 years in the military. Being ordered to recruiting duty against one's will was bad enough. Being forced to work from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. nearly 7 days a week just added insult to injury.

Recently started kung fu. The sorest forearms ever lol

I'm planning on finally trying out crossfit when I move. I'll probably do that 4 days a week and maybe run 2 days a week.

Went to the eastern shore of maryland and had crabs with the family. Wife had to work on the 4th so I didnt do much. Had a very relaxing time...cant complain. For all of you that are gonna be coming to DC...the food scene is crazy in some places and scarce in others. However, it has almost every ethnic food you can think of and it is delicious...even the metro stations have good places to eat. Can't wait for you guys to get here whoever is coming!

Ive been around here all my life and there is something in the DMV for everyone. If you like to do things and go places, there are always beer festivals, bbq festivals and new breweries popping up everywhere.....i will be taking advantage of the 3hrs to work out if and when DIA sends for me...gotta keep in shape so i can eat as much bbq as I want...lol Make sure you stay in touch when you get your duty station...

Exactly a year ago yesterday I moved to a new town from a big city known for awesome food. The current town is a little...lacking...in any sort of diversity. Point is, DC would be a welcome change for food options alone.

How about Charlottesville? Anyone know what the food scene is like there?

Charlottesville has several nice restaurants. I went to Charlottesville with my aunt and uncle a few months ago. The city has a nice pedestrian walkway in the downtown area with some restaurants, including one that we ate at.

Charlottesville is the cats meow. It's a awesome college town ton of cool restaurants and bars. I ate at a Korean food chipolte style place one time.

I'm beyond excited to be in a new city and be able to go out and explore. I've been to D.C. about 5 times and I always feel like each Metro Stop is its own city. I plan on hitting "bluejacket" after the first day of orientation, as it was on the best bars of America a few years back, and it's right across the river.

HaHaHaHa! So much winning in this! Though both people were unfortunately shot.
