Not exactly what we are hearing at the academy. They are saying all that is still in the air. I think it would be silly for us to do only DoD but then again, it is the government.

Yep. They are just going to house NBIB under DOD.

You'll soon discover training has no idea what is up and what is down.

Hold tight when you get to the field.

The Academy folks need to read the joint letter from NBIB/DSS that was released June 21st to every NBIB employee. You can't get more plain that when Charlie Phalan says in writing that NBIB is going to DoD.
*DISCLAIMER*Correctly filling out your security forms will not guarantee you a clearance in 3 months BUT be sloppy and your case will be in the field a heck of a lot longer, guaranteed.

The discussion wasn't whether or not we are going to DoD, like you said, that's in writing. The discussion was whether or not we would continue investigating ALL of the government or if we would ONLY be investigating DoD. Will the DoD keep us all to themselves or will they share us with everyone else?

I currently work for DHS since 2011 and have an interview set up soon for an OPM Federal Investigator position in the northeast. Any advice would be appreciated and what to look forward to would be appreciated also. Thank you in advance and good luck to all.

I signed a tentative offer with DHS back in November 2017. Pending Background Investigation.....

Submitted eQip SF85 NACI Background Investigation for non-sensative position on 12/05/2017.

Last status check from hiring office says they are still seeing "Pending Background Investigation" at OPM Security Center.

My references have not been contacted yet.

Any updates on current turnaround times for those in a similar situation?

Hello! I'm new to this thread. I currently work for DHS/CBP. I applied to a few investigator positions and got referred for one. I got the email saying I was referred on 05/15/2018 and haven't heard anything since then. I was wondering if this is a normal timeline and also where the FBITP is located and what it's like. Any information would be helpful, thanks!

I had my second interview for BI with NBIB. It has been about a week and half, have not heard anything regarding it. Is that common?

Thanks
