One has to wonder why it takes so long. According to the FBI Jobs website, you should get a CJO from 1-3 days after passing Phase III, and the background check takes an average of 6 months.

It's frustrating to say the least.

Mine still says phase III. The status hasn’t changed, but the date and time of the most recent processing did.

Not yet. I would imagine sometime in the next week or so it’ll show up though.

Do they email us the paperwork shortly after accepting the COJ?

So an update and some partially bad news.

Yesterday I decided to email the recruiter who sent the invitation for Phase III because I thought it weird that I had not received an email or phone call regarding travel arrangements. She replied quickly saying that she did not see in her system that I had scheduled a date/time slot, and asked if I had scheduled a slot and if I had received a confirmation email. I had scheduled a date/time slot and did receive a confirmation email, which I forwarded to her. She said that there must have been a glitch in the interview assistant because she did not see on her side that I had scheduled anything. She went on to say that she could not add another date or time slot because there weren't enough interviewers available. She did say that if someone dropped out, I would be the first person she would reach out to, otherwise I would have to wait for the next round which has not been scheduled yet. She did say that I would still get to do Phase III this fiscal year.

To say that I was upset is an understatement. Them not being able to do something about it is only understandable if I had slacked and not chosen a slot at all. But I did, the error was on their side of the system or the scheduling software they used. So, to me it seems unfair that they will just shrug and essentially say, "Get back in line, I guess." But, I guess I shouldn't expect them to move heaven and earth to help out an applicant.

I'm still going to move forward because this is something I really want. Thankfully, I just started a new job, and will still be applying to the CIA and State for more options.

Sorry to read that. It is nice to get the guarantee you will be next in line and seen before November.

If you browse through the Intel boards, you're gonna find that they take even longer for processing- some applicants take 2 years+. However, State may be shorter. Make sure to realign your expectations with each agency.

Yep, I noticed that the CIA takes incredibly long. I don't mind the wait time to be honest, mostly because I have a job right now. I'm hoping State is faster though, there really isn't much information on that in these forums.

It's a natural feeling, Jellybean. Hopefully you hear back soon one way or the other. The wait is the worst part, as I'm sure we are all very familiar with by now.

I thought that they tell you on the spot whether you failed or not, since they can see your reactions during the exam? If they didn't tell you "You Failed" after the poly, you should be good I think... right?

@Queue4Q Nope, nothing. Although, I am a bit behind. There have been technological errors on my portal since May which slowed down my CJO as well as inhibited me from even knowing that I received a CJO. Luckily, I kept calling, my portal was fixed, and I finally received/accepted the CJO. Still haven't gotten the paperwork :/

The SAME THING happened to me when I went to accept mine!

You should be contacted soon by your processing FO to start eQip (based on your timeline). Then the real fun begins!

Hey all, Q here. Just wanted to update everyone and see if anyone else has seen any movement. I got an email recently letting me know that my application had been updated on the FBIjobs site. Checked it out, and I had a date change, plus all of my pending applications to other FBI jobs were placed on hold. Hoping this is a good thing, but haven't heard anything from my processing FO or HQ in a while.

Has anyone else seen any movement as far as their processing date or anything like that?

Hey! I have not heard anything since my background started in August - about 5 people were contacted and then silence. But I just checked my application after seeing your post and I also have a date change but same status.

Well, things have taken a turn for the...I don't know.

My firm has known about the FBI since August when my BI came in to interview my supervisor. I've been an associate there for nearly seven years now and they've always treated me like family.

Yesterday, I am called into my administrator's office to be told that, because the managing partners are unsure about my future with the firm, many of my responsibilities are being rolled back. This is a major step back for me, and likely going to affect my yearly bonus and potential raise in the next few months.

I had thought that I would have heard something by now what with the processing date change and my other application on hold, but of course it is still radio silence.

ETA: There's a letter coming to me in the mail. Guess that's it for me. Best of luck, everyone!
