Ditto on the background! I am a prior fed so I hope that helps.

I’m a current fed but my current agency only needed a public trust clearance.

Ah ok. I had a TS but it has been 3 years since my renewal was due. Still hoping it helps speed the process.

How long did your first TS take?

Only 3 months 😲 Fastest in my group actually. Most took 6 months, but there wasn't a back log in BIs then.

Wow! Hopefully it’s not too backed up now. I think I’ve already been in one for another agency I applied to but I want the DEA job more so if the other one finishes the background first then I’ll send it to the DEA.

I was able to reschedule my medical for June 28! 😁 For those of you who had it done already: how’d it go? How long did it take?

I don't know if they will do it the same by you, but mine is a 2 day. Today was about 2 hours with the nurse doing bunch tests. Tomorrow is back with a physician to finish.

It should be a two day thing. The PPD test is a two day test. I’m assuming they initiated your PPD test today and will read it tomorrow.

No I have to go back again to have it read. They are hoping to do it tomorrow. The electricity on their storage fridge went and they lost the solution so had to order more. It is just normally a 2 day here despite the ppd mishap lol.

Oh wow! Hopefully the solution arrives soon! I guess it makes sense for it to be two days normally. There is a lot they have to test.

Lucked out the solution came before my 2nd appointment. I had it read today and my medical is officially done. Now I wait for medical clearance and an sf86. Goodluck to the rest with your medicals!

A few days ago DEA personnel security emailed me to get some info (I suspect to initiate me in EQIP). I completed my medical today as well. They found an abnormality in my EKG...they say it's only an indicator but they have to have a cardiologist look it over...so hoping I'm still moving forward. Good luck to everyone.

If anything you may have to do a followup with cardiologist. I have had an abnormal ekg my whole life. Since I knew my medical was coming soon I went to a cardiologist who ran an echo and nuclear stress test so I could bring the results to the medical exam. He also cleared me in a letter saying I was 100% heart healthy and was my normal.
They told me at my medical if I had not brought those results I probably would have had to do a followup with a cardiologist before they cleared me. So I essentially beat them to the punch. I knew this because I got flagged for same thing when I got hired by my last agency and got delayed doing a followup. But it depends on what kind of abnormality you have too. They may still clear you no problem.

Awesome!! Hopefully mine comes before I go on vacation July 1st. I don’t have my medical until the 28th though if that has a part in it. Maybe I’ll be able to get my test done while on vacation in Las Vegas.
