About the same as you:

December 2017 - CJO
December 2017 - Urinalysis
February 2018 - CPC
March 2018 - ???? - BI

I know people are getting interviewed for me right now, & the BI I met with estimated 6-9 months... but I take that with a grain of salt

CJO: Dec 17
CPC: Jan 18
Cleared Notice: April 18

Still waiting on FJO. Student job expired as of May 18 so right now I am SOL waiting on DIA to call. Worth looking for IC contractor work, or should I stick it out with some BS temp job until they finally decide to give me a call?

Good luck to all!

You have options, most people will tell you to look for something else until then.

1. Get on temp orders (you are a weekend warrior).

2. You can go here and check https://clearedjobs.net

Stay busy, good luck.

If you are not on LinkedIn, consider it. Lots of contractor jobs have the 1Click Apply, and basically it sends them a form with your LinkedIn profile and resume, and a few questions- meaning it’s a super fast process. I got two interviews for jobs that way. PM me and I can refer you to a contractor that I had luck with.

I would look for contractor jobs. Reason being, you can build your resume and learn the job before you start the job. It also makes you more competitive in the pool if you send updated resumes.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. My only concern with getting hired through a defense contractor is that they will make you adhere to a probationary period of ~ 1 year if you sign. It'd be a gamble for me to do that as DIA could call 2 months into that and then I would have to decline. Thoughts? If I am way off base here, let me know. This is my first foray into the federal government.

Not sure what you mean... what could they do to you if you quit before a year? I mean if they give you a hiring bonus or relocation package, they could make you pay it back, but if you just take a job with them I don't know how they could enforce it.

PS Kali have you seen how they move people through the line at Subway in the cafeteria? Pretty hard core. And they even have their own cashier!

What is your field? Analysis usually doesnt wait long. CI/HUMINT/Mission Management FJO's are about as common as bigfoot sightings these days.

Analysis. I read on here or some other page that it's typically 2-8 weeks. I feel like I shouldn't count last week b/c there was a holiday in the middle of the week so of course people took time off. But patiently waiting nontheless. So I wanna say I'm in week 6/7 for a call.

After a holiday week like last week I would anticipate a 2 week delay. You lost a week, and they're backlogged for another week because of that. Overall not too much to worry about. You're over the hump.

I actually got cleared last week... for analysis as well. Would really like a call sooner, rather than later...

Thats odd, most people prefer the long wait.

Yes, there is the leisure of the long delay, plus the excitement that they could call at any moment

(imagine sounds of insane laughter at this point)

I've gotten so much reading done! Ahh it has just been delightful knowing my professional future is just sitting on a government employee's desk. Having a party on my one year anniversary since CJO at the end of the month, y'all are all invited.

God that is disheartening to hear. I did not plan for this whole clearance process to take so long. What field is your CJO for?
