Hopefully this helps. Quoted from one of my email notifications. "Applicants who meet minimum qualification requirements will be placed in the QUALIFIED category and considered for the above vacancy after all applicants in the SUPERIOR and the HIGHLY QUALIFIED categories (Categories A and B) have been exhausted, and if vacancies still exist Candidates will be considered in category group order. Preference eligibles who meet the minimum qualification requirements and who have a compensable service-connected disability of at least 10 percent must be listed in the highest quality category (except in the case of scientific or professional positions at the GS-9 level or higher). All other preference eligibles will be assigned based on their responses to the questions and will be referred for selection before non-preference eligibles with the same category. Applicants are tentatively assigned to a category group pending qualifications validation and/or assessment results." Edited by user Thursday, September 13, 2018 9:07:22 AM(UTC)

Congratulations!!
I had my fingerprinting done on Sept 4th and also submitted e-QIP (SF85P) on same day, now waiting for FO.
Did you submitted your e-QIP (SF85P) with fingerprint or you already had your security clearance available?

I think I will need all the luck to get some responses quickly. For the ones starting soon, if you happen to get a good HR rep try to get some additional details for the left outs.

Congrats to all the new hires!! :) Has anyone seen movement yet on the Direct Hire announcement from August? If I'm following the thread correctly, the offers received recently were from the March posting?

Not sure why but the August announcements for me are sitting in some type of Review status. I am not sure if they are limiting it based on location or some other factor.

Congrats to all of the new hires :)! To those who are still waiting, I want to inform you that delays are not denials. It can take MONTHS to get in. I was told back when I first applied via USAJOBS.gov that if you receive a quick reply, then it is almost always a bad thing and that the wait is almost always worth it. MY EOD was but a few months from the one year mark of my application date. When I started receiving updates and e-mails, I had already forgotten and submitted 60+ applications.... 43 of which I had to turn down because the offers were coming back to back.
It's not over. You will be hearing something soon. |

My first day was Monday, I was the only one at orientation, there were more at other sites. There's a lot of new hires coming in the next few months I was told. They said that the IRS has not hired much for the last 5 years (freeze). They did not rehire for the positions that were lost, retired, moved etc. Now with the new tax laws there's new funding and a push for hiring.

I received selective service registration status letter in 4 weeks. My background check was completed on September 28. As per them I am ready to come on-board. I hope the next step is Final Offer. Edited by user Wednesday, October 3, 2018 2:25:42 AM(UTC)

Started getting some referral emails again, so I guess managers are asking for lists again. Could be good news for some of those multi position postings.
