Any carriers from Hawaii on here?

Looking to ask some site specific questions to people that currently work in Hawaii or have worked there.

1. I'm interested in the locations and size of the carrier stations on each of the major islands.

2. Curious as to how many carriers are currently waiting to transfer in (I'd prob try to find a mutual swap)

3. Any other info you can think of regarding working and living in Hawaii.

Thanks!

No employee can tell you how many people are on transfer list. Only the NBA office for that district has that information

Go to melissadata.com and put in the zip code of the cities in Hawaii you are interested in. They have carrier route info

The weather would be a positive, but I can't imagine having to walk up and down all those hills on Oahu, especially in areas like Mililani or Kaneohe.

I can speak primarily of the Big Island, cause that's where I was.

1. I'm interested in the locations and size of the carrier stations on each of the major islands.
Big Island has Kona and Hilo w/ City Carriers. It's a tight group, I don't know of many/any looking to get off the island.

2. Curious as to how many carriers are currently waiting to transfer in (I'd prob try to find a mutual swap)
Sorry, I don't have this info.

3. Any other info you can think of regarding working and living in Hawaii.
I researched it and made the jump from Rural Idaho to go to Hawaii. Big Island seemed like our best choice as it was more rural, which I liked, and had a cheaper cost of living. You do get a COLA for working in Honolulu District. I believe the Big Island is 18%, where Oahu is 25%. I really liked the Big Island and what it had to offer. Beautiful land and sea vistas, playing in the ocean, while it is an island, it's big enough to get different flavors and landscapes, really enjoyed it. There are some sacrifices, but the positive was much bigger than the negative for us.
Once again, I can only speak on the Big Island, haven't played Post Office on the others.

Since Killercavecow failed to state the obvious:

If you move to Hawaii, never go in a cave alone or unarmed.

if you haven't got a response in two years you probably won't. Cost of living is very high

Is it true that the air is so dewy sweet that you don't have to lick the stamps?
