No, I didn’t. I wasn’t sure if we book it and they reimburse or they book it. Email said we would be reimbursed then that they would contact us. So, I was a little confused.

FWIW, the Bureau booked and paid for my round-trip flight for my P3 in AZ. I paid for the hotel, airport parking, and cabs to/from the airport; I kept all of the receipts and was reimbursed via direct deposit a couple of weeks after sending them in to HR.

How quickly did they email you the flight itinerary? I have to book the hotel soon and would like to know when I am flying out.

I would definitely urge you to re-apply. Also remember that your passing scores for all of the phases of the IASP stay with you for life.

I'm not sure if this will be viewed any differently than if you would have withdrawn instead of declining the offer. For most of the FBI positions, something that I've seen repeated very often is "don't hold your breath" -- it takes a long time and nothing is certain, so apply but keep living as though you have zero chance of getting all the way to the end.

If you are really concerned, I would suggest reaching out to your local FO. Call them up during the week and ask to speak to someone. The HR reps I've spoken to have all been very kind and more than willing to help.

Just re-posting some info from the SA thread here. We have confirmation that there will be a sixth class this year, beginning on October 27. Usually, there are only five per year with September as the last class until January in the new year.

From what I've observed, SAs tend to move very quickly through the BI while IAs in the last couple of cycles have taken an average of six months to get a Q date. With that in mind, I'm not sure if any of us from the 2018 (EDIT) cycle will get to Q before January...though I'd love to be pleasantly surprised!

This is exciting! I’m hoping that this will also ease the minds of some folks still waiting for P3 invites as it definitely looks like there’s an increased need for SAs and IAs if they’re adding another class.

Is there a consensus on the gap between getting the BFTC date notification and actually going to Quantico?

From what I recall reading here, it was entirely circumstantial, with there being at least a month gap between being adjudicated successfully and learning that news and receiving a Q date. IIRC, some learned in April that they had actually been successfully adjudicated back in January and would be going to the May class. Others learned the same news in February and went to the March class.

Unfortunately, we have very little data from the 2017 cycle because there were only a few posters; thus, most of our info on timelines comes from the 2016 thread.

I'm done moving across the country and have the poly set up in my now-closest FO (4 hours away) for Wednesday. I'm a pessimist, so my expectations are low, but if I pass it'd be great to get the drug test done while I'm there. Then I wouldn't have to do a 2nd 8-hour round trip drive. 🙂

Hope everyone is doing alright!

Wishing you the best of luck! I'll be taking my Poly (and hopefully the drug test) on Thursday. As a fellow pessimist, I'm completely anticipating this being the end of the line for me. But I thought the same thing up until I got my P3 results, so we'll see :)

Interested to see if everyone else feels equally defeated after their poly. It's no fun, that's for sure!

They tell you if you passed or not as soon as it’s over. Were you not informed?

Nope, I wasn't. It was very open ended. You were explicitly told you passed?

Yep, the polygrapher told me that I would continue on in the process.
