Far out. That's where I am hoping to land!

Best of luck. Let me know if you have any questions on the area.

I took phase II on 12/22 and got the e-mail that I passed today!

For those who've passed, how long did it take to get the email to schedule the interview?

Congratulations!! That's exciting. Are you in the NE part of the country too?

For those who didn't pass, when you log into your FBIJobs portal, does it still say Phase 2?

I'm sorry to hear that, I know how it feels. Don't give up though. Now that you know what the writing test looks like you'll be better prepared when you test again (you won't have to take the P1 again either, so that's a relief). No matter what you decide though, I wish you the best.

I'm sorry Bruce. Now that you've seen the writing test maybe try again in a year? I am thinking I will go see if I can find public release NIEs or other intelligence writing so I can maybe get a better idea of how it ought to look, a better idea of what they're looking for, I think that will help (I hope). I know the CIA website has a open access library with all kinds of written material...I'm going to start there.

Anyway, whatever you decide, I wish you a bright & successful future. Take care

After reading the informal resumes here, I feel like I'm probably the least qualified. I have no experience at GS5. I applied for GS7 solely based on the Superior Academic Achievement requirement. I won't even have my bachelor's until May.

I've seen people here with Master's and seemingly a few years of government/Intel/analysis experience get rejected. I'm wondering if the GS9 positions were just more competitive. I'd also assume that someone rejected from GS9 would be considered for GS7, but maybe not.

I applied for a 7. I have worked as a 6 before but I have no experience in law enforcement, intelligence or the military. I have recently graduated with superior academic achievement (but not an IT/law/finance degree). I am thinking mine was purely poor performance on the writing test. I'm going to go poke around and see if I can find any NIEs or other open source intelligence docs to try to get a better feel for how to write for this...also I choke on writing tests...ppl come to me regularly at work to proofread and write things for them but on these tests I struggle. I've taken the state dept test multiple times, always pass the knowledge part but the writing bites me.

One thing they suggest that I haven't done yet is to "test" myself, set a timer, give myself a topic and just practice writing. I'm going to try that before I test again this year.

I hope some of that is helpful to someone.

Congratulations!! I'm in Nevada. Tested 12.15 but still haven't gotten anything. :/ I know it says up to 3 months to receive results but I'm definitely getting nervous. This Saturday is 7 weeks since I tested.

Have you been able to connect with anyone else from Nevada to see if their timeline matches up with yours?

For anyone who took phase 2, did you write the assessment like a persuasive essay or an analytical piece that synthesized information ( for example, a research essay but with limited sources)?

Answers from both those who passed and didn't pass are encouraged.
