Long time lurker thought I would join in and post my timeline:
Processing out of WFO: app: oct 18 p1: Dec 18 P2: Jan 19 P2 pass: Feb 19 p3: jul 19 P3 pass: aug 19 cjo: Aug 19 PSI Sept 19 Poly: Sept 19 Poly pass: Oct 19 Background: Oct 19 Credit pull: Nov 19 References contacted: Dec 19 radio silence
Anyone have a similar timeline that can give me hope i might make it to Quantico before 2021? Also has anyone else here submitted mental health forms and have any idea how long it may take medical to clear you or how much extra time it may add onto the background?
Good Luck all!

I am not too far off. I took my phase 1 & 2 during a previous application cycle and passed, then picked back up at phase 3 with my 9/18 app. Phase 3 for me was 6/19. CJO & PSI 7/19, poly & UA 8/19, credit pull 11/19, and prints were taken 12/19. An investigator contacted me and a few references in 12/19 and 1/20, if I remember correctly. I have had no date changes in the portal since I was called to come in for prints. Considering that it has been 6 months since I was first contacted by an investigator and I am nearing a year since the poly, I reached out to my AC recently to see if she would tell me if my background made it to adjudication yet. Last I heard from her she said she would be in the office today and would check on my status. Definitely a lot of patience required with this process.

Did anyone else get a follow-up email asking if they'd be available should need arise for August 16?
Kind of bummed, was hoping I'd be in that class. Now it sounds like I'm an extra for that class if they need.

Had already received an email asking my availability for 8/16 several weeks ago and replied in the affirmative. I’m guessing that happened to you as well? |

Yes I confirmed my availability a few weeks ago and assumed that meant that as long as they didn’t have to push back the date, that’d be my class. I was skeptical with not receiving any follow-up emails, and I guess this is why. More of a stand-by availability. Also unfortunate because I have no clue when the next class even is (if I’d be even a part of that).

I've been reading lots of SA and IA reviews on Glassdoor. Many of them say that there is no career advancement possibility for an IA, that the IAs are glorified secretaries, that agents treat IAs like dirt... there is even one recent one that comes up in which an IA says he is basically told what to write, doesn't actually do any analysis, and is told to sign his name to it.
I am out of the running for IA, but I am still in the SA process. I've also read some disturbing reviews from current SAs (though it seems the bulk of the negativity is from people doing IA), so I'm kind of worried about that, too.... I saw that on Glassdoor, too, but I think most of the negative comments came from before the overhaul of the IA position a few years ago. I forget the details, but it was determined (by OPM??) that the FBI could make better use of IAs, rather than let them be treated like glorified secretaries for SAs. Since then, it seems like they've made a concerted effort to ensure that IAs are treated appropriately. |

Received an email today saying that I am among those who have been selected to attend the 8/16 IA BFTC and to expect a FJO in the coming weeks with additional info should nothing change, the date is still tentative it seems. Was previously invited to 5/10 class.

If so, that could indicate that having them disappear is a positive sign that things are moving the right direction.
Feel free to DM me if you don't want to discuss publicly! Yes, this is a positive indication. I stopped receiving my tri-weekly emails when I had a date change on my portal back in February before receiving an email saying that I had been assigned the 5/10 class. I got my invitation about 5 business days after my portal had updated. Of course, this is all pre-covid so you might expect a longer wait to get a response, keep your head up. Ugh, got the 2 week availability email as well. That really stinks! They should have at least stated that in the original availability email instead of getting our hopes up. Also, how did they decide alternate vs. invited now? If this whole process hasn't aged you 10 years, you must have the patience of a saint.

Based off the one poster who got the invite, they were slightly ahead of me in the process before COVID. Does anyone know / have an idea when the next class(es) would be?

Feel free to DM me if you don't want to discuss publicly! Kind of unrelated because I haven't received an invite to Q, but the tri-weekly emails stop regardless after approximately 1-1.5 years in background. I'm 2.5 years in background, and inquired with HQ when mine all of a sudden stopped. Just thought you all should know, should yours be delayed.

Curious if anyone scheduled for July class has any updates as it is slated to start July 19th? Or August class as well? Nothing new here!

Has anyone heard about classes after August? Will there be a class in October, for example? |

Did anyone other than jcam85 make it? Apparently, per kiros' AC, the next class is supposed to be in December... Negative - for both the class and the waiting list. Probably fair to say that the December class will be filled by the August waitlist. 2021 it is! |

Yeah I had heard that August was full as well, but didn't ask about the next class. December makes sense, though. Perhaps the week after Christmas? |

Thanks for the updates.
Do you guys think those on the standby list have a fairly good shot at the December class? At least that’s what I’m hoping.
