I've never seen this before. Is this a change? I've understood previously that if you fail P1 you can reapply to new postings after a year, but does this now mean if you fail two P1 assessments you're permanently barred from any and all FBI employment? If so that recalls the time when if you failed one FBI poly you were barred for life but thankfully they revoked that as I said in a prior posting. It means for this application you get 2 chances if you fail the first one, you have to wait 1 year to retest for that application. If you fail the second time then they discontinue that application. You are still free to apply to other FBI jobs. |

Did you all get emails that your status had changed? Just wondering if I need to keep logging in every fifteen minutes to check my status...

I've been doing intelligence analysis since 2008 so it's not exactly "starting over."

You search various intelligence systems for information on that target. You gather intelligence on that target. You assemble the intelligence into a cohesive, succinct and informative (BLUF: "Bottom Line Up Front") draft report. Your supervisor reviews the report and, after a few drafts, approves it for dissemination. Report is sent electronically to various customers. Customers may respond with praise or critiques. You use those critiques to improve your products. Rinse and repeat. Basically it's the intelligence cycle: https://www.e-education.psu.edu/sgam/node/15

Sometimes it's repetitive but more often you'll be busy trying to figure out why someone is changing their tactics and trying to figure out what they could be doing next. Ideally you'll get to meet other analysts at other agencies. I like doing it because I like hunting down information and putting the pieces together.

I've been doing intelligence analysis since 2008 so it's not exactly "starting over." Well I meant in regards to the role itself. With the pay being what it is and not having any direct reports it seems more like an entry level role. However, I didn't consider that you may already work for the government and could potentially be carrying over your salary and time. |

I just scheduled. Mine is being treated as a retest from the last time which was Spring 2016. I scheduled it but also emailed them questioning this being a retest. I had to enter my current zip for a testing center because they were trying to schedule the location based on 2016 when I was in my hometown over 300 miles away!
